They're a little more crazy here in Maine! A few years ago a woman put her little girl in the oven on HIGH to drive the devil out. The police and firemen all needed counciling after that call. SAD !

It was once brought to my attention that a common disciplinary action in Japan was for mothers to lock their kids outside/out on the balcony. My husband later told me that his mother used to do the same thing to him, as did other mothers in his neighborhood. I can't imagine doing that with my boys.

Some people shouldn't be allowed to have children ... This case isn't as bad as the ones reported by Den4 and Frank, but I remember seeing something years ago while living in Denver, Colorado. Two kids, a brother and sister age 10 or so, had huge cardboard signs hung over their shoulders that read: "I lied." And they were forced to march up and down one of the sidewalks in downtown Denver, with their parents standing nearby. One of the men I worked with had been to lunch with a friend who was a social worker, and when they both saw that display, my friend had to take the social worker to the nearest bar to calm him down, as it was all my friend could do to keep him from hurting those parents! Just unreal that some "parents" can act this way ...

Well... it's sad... I also heard that some mothers just throw their babys down from don't know which floor, or just dumb them in the trashbin...

I hate when parents to punish their kid walk away or lock them outside the house. What if they lost they lost their kid it would be there fault.
