Ancient Japan and the Jews

I did not say よろず/よろい cannot be broken down because it is written in a single kanji
.

not at all.

for example Inu (犬)
we can break i and nu down in etymology .
犬〔いぬ〕は〔い=i〕「確かに」、〔ぬ=nu〕「二つとない(主人を二人も持たない=忠実な)」で、忠大「ハチ公」を連想させる「確かに忠実な(生き物)」です。

miyako都(宮古)
there are many..

As of late, I've become particularly interested in the Shirogane Tunnel. It's said it was once (and may still be) the path between the realm of the living and the dead, or Shinigami.

I take a lot of interest in spiritual places, and I practice white witchcraft, so any info on this 'Urban Legend' would be greatly appreciated.

I'm getting confused now what you are talking about, the people, the language, or the religions???
You are saying that Old Jewish beliefs and Shito have more similarity between them than Japanese... what and Korean what?
My understanding is that Jewish belief is monotheistic while Japanese Shintoism is polytheistic (you know, 八百万の神 ). It seems a fundamental difference to me.

Thank you, Mike. 👍
True but however when you take a belief that is no longer fully understood and warp it a bit it seems different but is really related. for example, there are a group of Jews in Latin America who didn't know they were Jewish due to persecution etc. so every Friday night they turn their Jesus statues around and light Sabbath candles. And they had no idea why they did that until they were reintroduced into the Jewish mainstream. Even Jews believe in spirits and demons you know. though why a Japanese person started this thread is a mystery to me.

The closest thing the Hebrews have in the Tanakh/Old Testament to kami or "eight million gods" is the concept of אֱלוֹהִים ("Elohim"). The word is rather ambigiously used in the Tanakh to refer alternately to Yahweh/God (acting as a singular despite having the plural suffix), angels, and pagan gods.
The "yah" in the Hebrew יהוה, or "Yahweh" is simply part of the Hebrew verb "to be" in first person singular (although in writing, it could also be third person singular imperfect--"he is"). In other words, the name God gives for himself is "I am."
"Yah" does not equal "god" in Hebrew, but rather "el". Thus, the connection between the "Yah" of יהוה and the "Ya" of 大 or 八 is doubtful at best.
In Hebrew, eight (שמוה, shmona) is not as auspicious as the number seven (שבעה, shiv'a). Seven is the number of life and other important things throughout Hebrew mysticism. I don't see any important ties between Hebrew and Japanese numerology in this area.
Absolutely wrong in Hebrew 7 is the number representing the mundane and 8 represents the important or special.

No Caster51 san, it's just a letter, although it superstitiously came to be used for the 'name' (ha shem) after the exilic period. It is the first letter in the tetragammaton.

I am not so sure of the degree of valid connection being made here though, with the Jewish-Japan thing.

Of all cultures Japan could possibly be related to Jewish certainly seems the weirdest.

AFAIK, it started in modern Japanese period with the publication of "The Japanese and the Jews" by Isaiah Ben-Dasan (pseudonym for Yamamoto Shichihei) which was an argument on the "unique Japanese identity" from a "Jewish" perspective.

Jews in the Japanese Mind (Google Book Search)

Yet, the "real" Jewish people seem to see anti-Semitism in Japan?? I didn't know that until I read this! 😌

I think it is not anti-Semitism at all.
we never consider hostility to them as a race.
I think it is a kind of bashing to their enterprise and certain organization
that is an opposite conspiracy of them that the Japanese are anti-Semitism.
they are using a weapon of a card of racist against bashing

He also considered himself a Jew though he is an exterm..

Then what is happening in Israel now?
It is getting worse

word of the same meaning and same sound..
i think the connection from the relation of the word to which ancient times fossilize is clarified.

The language is deeply related to race's identity.
The origin of the word can be traced to past history and the life of the race in all the languages.
We can speculate other relatives from what the past word was spoken.

BTW
it is said Japanese language is an orphan of language.
It is possible to divide into some groups by tracing the system of the language. It tells the relation between the race and the other race.

Most languages of Europe, Persian languages, Hindis, and Sanskrit words are classified into Indo-European language.
A Mongolian language, Turkish, and the Uighur language can be classified into
Altai language.
They are words spoken around Altay Mountains in Central Asia.
The Hebrew, Aramaic, and the Arabia language belong to the Semitic family of languages.
The race who speaks these is recorded as a descendant of Shem.

How about Japanese language?
That is, the language of a similar character is not found in another.

Criteria related to relative of language
According to Alfred L. Kroeber

some words with the same meaning and sound exist in the words which belong to another language.
however this number is about 5 words
therefore, it is necessary to find many words not by chance in order to judge two languages are related.

How many is it needed?

syllable system
The language has always developed as an information switching system.
The system doesn't usually admit a coincidence that cannot be explained.

There is one special method to search for the relative relation in both races'
ancient times. that is , syllable .

A minimum unit of the voice is called a syllable. For instance, a word of "ko-to-ba" in Japanese are three syllables.
it can say "word' in English is one syllable.
It becomes a word and sentences with meaning only after the syllable ties.

probability where word of two syllables of the same meaning arises by chance
in the same pronunciation.
in English, the kinds of the syllable are 3000 because it differs according to the idiom.
There are 112 kinds of Japanese slightly.

For instance, it is assumed 112 that the kind of the syllable of space alien's
language is the same as the Japanese.
The probability that the word of two syllables that consists of the same syllable and the same meaning arises is about 1/10,000.
The probability by three syllables becomes 1/100,000.
Therefore, there is no probability to be born for the word of the same meaning and the same syllable by chance if there are neither a cultural influence nor a good relation.
In other words, it can be said that there is some, cultural exchanges or kinships between both languages and races if they are found between two languages.

If it is several word, it is recognized as a chance result.
How if it is 500?
( I don't know Onyomi words are included in them? if so, the story is different)

if we see the ppl of Indo-European family, we can guess their lifestyle in ancient from one of their ruins.

in TV program, more than 500 is ....

to write, to take, etc in both Japanese and ancient Hebrew (also in Aramaic) are same sound and same meaning..

The grammar looks like in relation to Korean.
However, the korean word is quite different from Japanese though ancient Korean is unknown.

I will research the kun-yomi words as far as i can 😌

According to ancient Japan's history (1911)

so on..

Yeah but you are ignoring the fact that ancient Hebrew(phoneticians spread it but we invented it) was the original language with phonetic syllables. so even English is related in some ways.

and one thing I think you are all ignoring is that despite the fact that something may be a predecessor of something it may evolve into something completely different or simply make it look like there is or isn't a connection.

Some interesting reading on a jewish connection in East Asia:

what i read here is really funny.
because...for those who believe in God... Semitic is a word that comes from the meaning ( sons of Sam)
Noah is the father of Sam , Sam is the great grand father of Abraham , Abraham is the father of Issac and Ismael. Issac is the father of Jacob, and Jacob is the father of all the people of Israel. Ismael is the father of all Arabs. (yes we are cousins and fighting, funny). funnier is when an Arabian is called anti semitic when Arabs are semitic as well.

the point is, the Asian race are the sons of Yam , Sam's brother...so if you want to go that way back (about 63000 years ago)yeah you might find a connection :P....
you can connect all Asians with mid easterns (hahaha)
you can even go further back and connect all humanity, we all decent from Adam you know. :) :)
but to say that the Japanese are decedents of Jews is no where to be right.

I think that all cultures are related in some way.

This is the more clearly and correctly understood position by those who have spent their lives studying such things--although the word 'culture' should be changed to homo sapiens.

Keep it on topic, please !

This is the second time !! A third time would not be a nice thing to have to do. . . I know that no one feels good about striking out. (baseball)

I don't get what people's fascination with the lost tribes of Israel is to begin with. Jews have been persecuted since the beginning of time, always subject to antisemitism and everyone has always hated them. So why do so many people want to be Jews then? Looking up stuff on the Ten Lost Tribes, it seems like everyone out there has made some claim to the lost tribes thing. Irish, Japanese, Russians, Native Americans, Greeks, Kurds, British and various others. They can't all be Jews!

I dunno, it's just weird to me, with all the antisemitism throughout history I wouldn't think so many people throughout history would be so insistent on claiming Jewish ancestry.

that is true and it is curious trend but it may be that some Jews did get to some places. we know they got all the way to India and China, definitely Africa...
but we are a special people and its always a plus to be able to boost up your family tree.
