You are right, Cabaret is an american film with an american director: Bob Fosse. I guess I got confused bacause the film takes place in pre-war Germany, the original book was written by a British man and most of the actors are european.
🙂

Jukek, by the way, you did not mention any Kieslowski films in your list. Why not?

This is just off the top of my head, but here are my 10 favourite movies that I can think of just now:

Message for Han Chan: I don't like Krzysztof Kieślowski films. He makes to serious films. I don't like films like Three colours: White, Three colours: Blue and Three colours: Red or Decalogue (ten films mades on the basis of Decalogue) for me they are too serious.:-)
Greetings from coldy Warsaw

There are beeing made so many shallow films these days. Entertainment should be entertaining. Funny films should be funny. But, art is serious, and Krzysztof Kieślowski was a great artist.

Message for Han Chan: one of the greatest Polish director is Andrzej Wajda. He directed: Ash and diamond, Channel (in meaning: sewage system under the city), Revenge, Man of stone, Man of iron and many many others films.
Other Polish director is Krzysztof Zanussi. Sorry but I don't know what films he directed. His films are possible to Krzysztof Kieślowski's films.

love the Back to the Future Trilogy, Lord of the Rings, Blues Brothers, anything with Audrey Hepburn, Monty Python, and a great 80's Aussie movie you've probably never heard of "Hercules Returns". It is classic, Australian humour, I challenge you all to watch it. You'll laugh till you cry.

I want to add:
Dersu Uzala directed by Akira Kurosawa. It' s one of the greatest his film. I love it.
Sorry I add one more film: "On the wrong side of way" made in Australia by unknown Aussie director.
