A Quiz on Japan for Beginners

Well, the first one was simple, but the last two were quite challenging.

Hey, isn't Yokohama the second largest Japanese city? Here they said Osaka was. I know Osaka is more important, but Yokohama is the second largest metropolis.

I get it now.

Yokohama is seen as Tokyo's metropolis, so Osaka is seen as the official second metropolis. I see.

I was born and raised in Yokohama and yes, Yokohama is the largest metropolis, however, now, Yokohama is more or less combined with Tokyo and Kawasaki....And Osaka is more "important" as an industrial city I believe.

"You are observing common sense. You must know more about Japan."

I'm observing common sense?.. I'd like to think i possess it, not just look at it....

Pretty easy. The third one got me though. Got a 6 on that one. >_> I'm not that great with history.

What about the one if you got 4-7 right: "There seems some poor field in you." :?

Osaka has always been the second largest city in Japan.

damn,,, I totaly got blanked in my little head about the fuji,, :( :sorry: ,,
1: 8 of 10 is good anyway,,, :-)
2: 5 of 10 :(
3: 2 of 10 :( :? 😭

Think I will go to bed now,,,

On the first quiz, I didn't know what you needed to make sushi, or what tofu was made of. I'm just ignorant of Japanese cooking T_T

way too easy! You could learn most of those answers just watching TV! LOL

Osaka has always been the second largest city in Japan.

Errr, Osaka is the second largest metropolis in japan... But as a city it is smaller than Yokohama.

I would say that I got 9 1/2, because I said "bean curd" for tofu. :D

Whoops, I didn't realize that it continued. Well, then, my adjusted score would be 9 1/2 (explained earlier), 9 1/2 (because I already heard about Osaka), and 6. Yeah, I killed that last one.

If you're going strictly by Osaka-shi versus Yokohama-shi.

Osaka-shi, within Osaka-fu, is not that large.

But then it would not be fair to say that Tokyo is the biggest city because the entire prefecture is considered one city. There is NO Tokyo-shi.

I assume "size" of a city is determined by population

These are much too easy. I hafta look for a more difficult one.

quiz on Japan

a third grader that knows almost nothing about japan could pass that!

oh well we look for greater challenges

Yes, I am talking about population. Because if you are talking about how large and modern it is, Osaka and even to an extent Nagoya would pass Yokohama.
