Today I read the news that Iceland is searching for a new name:

This made me think.

What would you name Japan?

I remember reading that Iceland and greenland were misnamed on purpose,

So that invading hordes would not bother trying to take Iceland, opting instead for Greenland.
And by the time you got there and realised it was pretty much only ICE, you would not have the musto to make it back.

Perhaps Japan could get help with it's economy by letting it's country be sponsored
(apparently the gov may well run out of money in nov.)

Though i'm not sure how happy the residents would be if it ended up being called Samsung-land

Although in strategic terms, East America would work

I suppose Riceland is too obvious or general...

For those who have never been to Japan....

maybe it should be called" "Fantasy Islands"". It seems everyone all over the world wants to go there for the perfect dream. I remember in the Navy , I picked Japan as my first choice of duty stations to go to. For some reason , I thought it was heaven on earth. I will admit , those two years I spent there were wonderful , but there were a few minor imperfections , LOL.

thanks for the ideas... lol

I have been thinking myself as well, but it's too hard to come up with a name besides Okonomiyakiland (guess this might be better for Osaka) or maybe benha (ben(ri) = convenient / ha = harmony) .

I am looking forward to some more names!

I've got something fresh: SEFAE ( kinda abbreviation: Stressing Environment For All Elephants )

窶堋ケ窶堙凪?塲ク窶堋ヲ orツ ニ短ニ稚ニ叩ニ竪

There is a source for that brilliant idea : Elephant's Bathing

Couple indian elephants were touring in Japan with circus and, doctor prescribed them bathing in Amur Bay to relieve stress of being in Japan. It is very hard to stress elephant, because they do have thick skin, big ears and large tusks, and ... everyting is possible in Japan.

how about "Fusou" again?
