Hiya,
1. その辺の本、どっかどかして、適当に座って。
a) Does this mean, more or less, "Move those books somewhere and find a place to sit"?
b) Is どかして = 退かして?
c) Does 辺 just refer to the place where the books are currently located, or does it mean something more specific?
2. In response to 何か飲む?, does 何があんの? mean something like "What do you suggest?" Is あん = 案?
3. The speaker offers his guest a drink, and the guest asks for coffee, and then the speaker says:
ん。いや~こう見えてもさ~、コーヒーには結構うるさいから、ちゃんと豆換いて入れてるんだ 。
My guess, which I am not 100% confident about: "Bother! ... It may not seem so, but I'm quite fussy about coffee, so I need to replace/refresh the coffee beans (in some coffee making equipment)"?
a) Is this more or less correct?
b) What is the grammar of 換いて? What verb is it? I don't suppose it could be a typo for 換えて, could it?
4. 片岡先生、今日はおみやげ、って言うんですか、贈り物 についてお教えいただきたいと思います。
I understand the speaker is saying he would like to ask 片岡先生 about gift-giving (customs), but what is the purpose of おみやげ、って言うんですか? Who is the subject of 言う? The obvious interpretations don't seem to make much sense in context. Actually, it would make more sense to me if か was が ... but basically I'm lost with this part ...
