Hi,

1. したがって我々は、漢字の使用に関しては、常識と柔軟 性を第一として、数には捉われないようにした。

My translation: "Consequently, where kanji usage is concerned, we put common sense and flexibility first, and do not become preoccupied (捉われない) with (counting) the number (of kanji used)."

I'm not super-confident about this translation, especially the last part. Does it look right?

2. 会話はCDで聞かせ、クラスでも練習させる。

My translation: "Have (the class) listen to the conversation on CD, then have the class practise it."

What does でも mean here? Is it one "word", or is it more like で (roughly "in (class)") + も ("also")?

1. Yeah, it looks good.

2. The latter, で+も. So it's like "have them listen to the conversations on the CD, and also have them practice in class."

You're progressing pretty nicely. 👍
