Hi

1. 「僕たちから何かお飲み物を差し上げたいのですか?」
(Someone is offering to get someone a drink in a pub.)

I feel confused about the subject and meaning of 差し上げたい.

2. 「バグマンが、セドリックもおんなじように助けたいって思っているならいいんだけど!」

Is バグマン the subject of 思っている?

3. 「お・あ・い・に・く」

What is this? Is it a very emphasised お (honorific) + あいにく (生憎)?

4. 「記事のためなら、何にも気にしないのね。誰がどうなろうと。」

a) Does 誰がどうなろう mean "no matter how it might affect anyone"?

b) What is the function of と?

5. 「お座りよ。バカな小娘のくせして。」

What is のくせして?

1)
差し上げる is a humble expression of あげる/やる "to give". から indicates the agent in this case.

2)
Yes.

3)
The dots express that the speaker pronounced the word syllable by syllable (inserting breaks between each syllables).

4) a)
Yes.

b)
"The volitional form of a verb + と" is an adversative hypothetical conjunction.
誰がどうなろうと気にしない。 = (たとえ)誰がどうなっても気にしない。

[接助]活用語の終止形に付く。
4 逆接の仮定条件を表す。たとえ…であっても。…ても。
㋐意志・推量の助動詞「う」「よう」「まい」などに付く。「何を言われよう―気にしない」「雨が降ろう―風が吹こう―、毎日見回りに出る」

4)
~のくせして = ~のくせに

Thanks Toritoribe,

1. I am confused about this. Do you mean that the speaker is the subject of 差し上げたい? I can't grasp what ~たいのですか is for. Is the speaker questioning what he wants to do? How does questioning what you want to do amount to offering to do something (which seems to be the intention)?

4. How does くせに become くせして? I don't really see the grammar of it.

1. Sorry, it is my mistake. The original is が, but I somehow misread it.

4. I see that くせに is apparently 癖に (though usually written in kana), and presumably くせをする is likewise 癖をする, but for interest, what is the connection between the meanings of these phrases and the usual meaning of 癖?
