Hi,

1. モンパチは沖縄出身のバンドし、僕も大ファンだよ。「 小さな恋の物語」は良かったよね。新垣結衣も歌ってい るけど、彼女も沖縄の出身。

a) In the second sentence, does も mean that she is another example of an Okinawan performer (in addition to モンパチ)?

b) Does けど in the second sentence have any contrastive sense?

2. 12月27日だったかな。

This is talking about the date of a future concert. What is the difference in this case between だったかな and だかな?

3. チケットの料金は、もう少したったら、沖縄市民会館に 電話するか、「ピア」というチケットサイトに行けば書 いてあるはず。

My translation: "Regarding the ticket price, ... ??? ..., call Okinawa Town Hall, or if you go to the 'ピア' ticket website the price should be shown there."

What does もう少したったら mean? I wondered if it could it mean something like "if you require a bit more information", but what is the verb? The dictionary meanings of したう ("yearn", "long for", etc.) seem too strong and emotional for this context.

4. 独裁者は司法権を自分のものとした。

Translation given: "The dictator arrogated judicial powers to himself."

Could this be written as ・・・自分のものにした? Would there be any difference in meaning?

1) a)
Yes.

b)
No. It's just introducing the main clause.

2)
だかな is wrong. That's just かな.
だった gives a nuance that the speaker is recalling it.

3)
もう少し(時間が)経ったら

4)
The meaning is the same in this case. にする sounds more colloquial.

3) Duh, yeah, I realised a bit later actually that I had misread this. Even so, what does もう少し(時間が)経ったら mean in this context? That the other person should wait a while longer before phoning or consulting the website?

Yes, that's right.

Grammatically, that sentence is wrong. It should be 沖縄市民会館に電話するか、「ピア」というチケットサ イトに行けばわかるはず, since 沖縄市民会館に電話すれば書いてある doesn't make sense.
