Hi,

「あなたのことは『週刊魔女』で読みましたよ。ハリーを騙してるって。あの子はもう十分に辛い思いをしてきたのに。大きな封筒が見つかり次第、次のふくろう便で呪いを送りますからね」

I seem to have more problems with から than probably I should. What it its purpose here?

Try to imagine what must come after it but has been omitted as being obvious from context. What might it be?

I don't know what that could be. There doesn't seem to be anything obvious in the story.

大きな封筒が見つかり次第、次のふくろう便で呪いを送りますからね。覚悟しておきなさい。 makes sense, for instance? The speaker's strong intention such like order or caution often follows this kind of からね/からな.

...so be looking for it to arrive

...so use it on Harry

...etc

One of the aspects of Japanese is that not only can understood/understandable words be left out (as you are familiar with), but that entire phrases or clauses can also be left out. This is often the case when ending on things like から or {verb + と}
