Hello,

1) Is there a difference between 異なる and 異なった when they modify a noun?
For example, in this sentence (from a game, explaining one of its playmodes). Would replacing 異なる with 異なった change anything?

2) This is about that ~かな that means "I guess..." instead of "I wonder...". (Chi's Sweet Home | Japan Forum)

a) I am having trouble understanding the different nuances of ~かな. I read that ~かな can be replaced with でしょうか, but I don't think this works for the cases where ~かな means "I guess...".
How would you rephrase these sentences without using かな:

b) I'm having trouble distinguishing when it is "I wonder..." and when it is "I guess...". I know it has to do with context and intonation but sometimes I can't say for sure which one it is.
(The sentence is right at the end of 魚市場で. Click ドライブで and then go back a bit.). The seller clearly interprets her sentence as 今日はさばをもらおう. with no doubt at all.

But then I encounter this, and I can't tell if she is pretty certain that she will cut her hair soon, or not (解説&例文|大切な表現|第24課 : Second to last example down the list).
Judging by her intention, I think it's "I wonder...".

Just before the half mark, when she starts drawing on the picture.

1)
The meaning is the same.

2) a)
It depends on the intonation, as I wrote previously.

b)
そうだね shows that she agreed with 髪、長くなったね.

3)
Yes.

4)
I'm sure she said れで "and then".

Thank you, and sorry for the late reply.

So 皆で旅行するのもたまにはいいかしら could also be a genuine "I wonder..." with the right intonation? ("I wonder if it is good to all go on a trip once in a while...")

In the case where these two are interpreted as "I guess...", how is かな different from just な. Does かな add a bit of uncertainty to the sentence?

Finally, ~のかな can never be used with that "I guess..." meaning, right?

It's possible, but いいのかしら would be more common for the case.

わかんないな doesn't fit the context. It should be わかんないよな or わかんないだろうな. かな sounds softer than these expressions.

Finally, ~のかな can never be used with that "I guess..." meaning, right?
Hmm, I don't think so.
