Hello, firearcher. I'm also from the Philippines and still waiting for the embassy email. I called the embassy last week to inquire when results would be out, and the staff told me that they will release it, hopefully, before the end of the month. We'll see.

I actually graduated around 4 years ago. I've been working since then and is now looking forward to getting postgraduate degree. I wanted to study international law. Hopefully, I qualify for my chosen universities. Any tips on how I should go about getting a Letter of Acceptance? Thank you so much!

Hello @Luishi, in my experience by July, I already decided to apply for a scholarship at Tokyo Institute of Technology. I started contacting for professors around September. I had my Skype interview by end of October. Submitted the documents by end of November. My application for a slot in the university and MEXT scholarship were simultaneous.

If you're aim is by Oct2016, then your timeline should be similar to mine. Thank you for your answer, that gave me some assurance for the research scholarship. So the Philippine embassy opens the scholarship by July? Also, do the Japanese universities in entertain students that are not yet to graduate? Like I have two more semesters before graduating.

I would like some other things if it's alright, I want to know about the entrance exam and research proposal is required right? For the exam did you went to Japan to take the exam or we could take it in our country? For the research proposal I'm not quite sure on how I write it since I'll be shifting my research from environmental to aerospace.

Hm, I think I'll have some problems regarding GWA and as for the linkage, in my university we have Yokohama and Nagoya. Maybe I should contact first my prospective professor regarding my concerns Thanks a lot Sir! I'll post an update if whether I'm accepted in TohokuU with the MEXT scholarship or not sometime in the future.

Hello! I would like to know how to process MEXT through the university application. What are the procedures in applying through the university? I want to pursue seismic engineering and I'm listing the following universities as prospects: University of Tokyo, Kyoto University and Tohoku University. But my list is only on National Universities since I have not yet researched other universities that have specialized program on earthquake research. Maybe you have some ideas as well with regards this matter? Thank you very much.
