Monbukagakusho Undergraduate 2015

Just 2-3 people? That's what I want haha. I heard that in another country there were like around 80 people sitting for the exams.
And yeah, there aren't too many people who want to learn Japanese. Furthermore, I think it's rare that even a high school will offer Japanese as a language.
I have like just 2 questions concerning the application. I've called my consulate so many times though. I want the 2015 application to be released already. It will be out this month according to my consulate's site but I really hope that it's out on Monday. After I can get the application completed then I will feel much better.

Heh,hope you get it! ^^
Yeah,I've heard that one too..it had me really anxious for a while.. ^^;
Aah,I see..
I was told that it'll come out this week so don't worry about it :)
Same here..Then it'll just be the studying I'll have to worry about xD

I hope all of us get it :D I'd love to sit down with all of you guys in Japan and talk about the effect this whole process has had on both our physical and mental condition xD
And this week? Awesome!!!! Currently, I need to look for a site where I can fill in PDF's since I will be typing my application.
Oh, by the way, since English is my native language please feel free you and everyone else to message me to check your English on your application if:
1) You are not sure if your English is correct & and don't have money for a translator
2) You simply want to verify that your English is correct

Same..that'd be really awesome :3
I'm getting excited again xD
Ok,I'll keep it in mind,thanks! :D

Hello everyone.

It's nice to meet people applying for the Japanese next scholarship. I from Nigeria and I'm applying for Medicine. I heard it's super competitive. But I wish everyone good luck.

Hi, everyone. Can someone tell me what they mean exactly by "Certificate of passage of university entrance qualification examination (if applicable)". Something like a BAC!!!!?

Hey! I don't think you need that. If I'm wrong then someone correct me, but I think that's only for if you've contacted a university over in Japan already and have been accepted to them. So, no worry there.

Hello guys!
Someone please help me out with this. I was reading through the picture shown above but I'm stumped because it says to number the documents 1-6 in the upper right corner.
1-----So, I number my 2 originals of the application "1".
2-----Then my transcript is "2".
3-----My recommendation and graduation certificate is "3"
4-----Then I don't label anything "4" because I'm not going for direct placement.
5-----I also don't label "5" since I don't have a certificate of passage of university.
6-----Last, I label the medical certificate "6".

Would someone let me know if this is correct? Am I just worrying about this too much? I just want a complete and correct application xD

I thought that thing was for if you've gotten into a university in your country.. xD
It's finally out though..minna,ganbatte! Or in any case, good luck to us all! :D

Everyone, I apologise for my long absence. I was extremely busy with family and school related stuff.

Hi...!!
everyone I'm new here, beforehand, i'm sorry, perhaps my english is yet not good enough.
so i hope you can help me out, I have some questions about the scholarship
unfortunatly I'm kinda far away from the japan embassy

Feel free to ask any questions you have! We're all here to help one another

Hi guys I'm new here. I also wish to apply for monbu in the medicine field. keshant would you please send me the past year papers? Your kindness is much appreciated.

also, the application forms are out. Are there any guidelines to fill in the forms?
Anyone has any idea what the syllabus are for math B? i am having trouble doing some of the questions.

I heard that we are not allowed to work while we study through this scholarship. we'll get sent back if they find out. That's what I heard...

Hey Keshant, could you also send me papers please?? My mail is [email protected] I'm also trying to apply for the medicine field, but Math B keeps giving me problems. :S

Hi! It's nice to finally see someone else who's pursuing medicine. I was told it's the toughest field to get. Do you know any Japanese?
Concerning Math B, I advise you to perfect your A-level Math. Almost everything is tested in the exams but the exam requires you to have an in-depth understanding of the topics.
Also, I've been hearing rumours that you're not allowed to work as well but some people said that you need a permit. I guess it depends on the university you're attending. My email is [email protected]. Please contact me via email if you need any help with solving questions, etc.

Oh, by the way, I have a question about the letter of recommendation.
To the Applicant : Please indicate your full name above. Give this form and one of the envelopes marked ツ"confidential" addressed to yourself, to the person you
have asked to recommend you. Ask this person to place the completed form in the envelope, seal the envelope, sign across the seal, and return the unopened
envelope with your application.

I have never done this, and never heard of this until I looked into this scholarship. Could someone explain to me how I do this? I don't understand this part at all, and I can't seem to find find a guide on the internet for this. Thanks!

From what I understand, you give the recommender the form along with an empty envelop. On the envelop, you will write your name and address. After the person has sealed the recommendation form in the letter, he will write his signature across the seal to prove that it has not been tampered with.

Take a look to this channel :)

I've checked her videos and her experience seems wonderful! I hope she will make more videos showing her first year in Japan.

Hello! I'm new on this forum and I plan to apply for the 2015 undergraduate scholarship. ^^
I was wondering..could anyone tell me about how much it'd cost to get all the paperwork done?
Also,does anyone know if someone with bad high school grades has any chance of getting this scholarship? ^^;
Thanks in advance! :-)

Application for this scholarship is completely free! Anyone charging a fee is not directly affiliated with the Japanese Embassy. The only thing that might cost some money is your Medical Check up and Academic Transcripts which shouldn't be very expensive. On a facebook group, I've heard of people who applied with bad high school grades and were still short listed by the embassy to write the exam. I guess more emphasis is being placed on the exam you write by the Japanese government. All in all, it never hurts to apply and try your luck!

Hi again!
I got the '12 and '13 exams from a very kind guy from Venezuela on MEXT Facebook group.
Here is the dropbox link where you can download them.
Dropbox - Error

The '10 and previous exams are available on the Japanese government site.

Thank you so much for this link! I've had so much trouble finding answer sheets!

The guidelines should appear here Government-sponsored right? Cause they haven't uploaded the one for 2015 yet...

Btw, do you guys translated yourself the school certificate?

Hey guys, the application says "What kind of field are you planning to study in Japan?"
Is it asking us to choose our top choice out of the 3 major fields of study that we listed earlier in the application????
On top of that, are we supposed to be explaining why this is our choice??????
Thanks! :)

I believe they mean you have to choose our top choice from the 3 major fields. For example, My two choices are Medicine and Biology so I list my first choice as Medicine and second as Biology. But after giving reasons for the choices, I see they've asked what kind of field you're planning to study in Japan for question 12 so it I'm a little unsure about what the right answer is...

I see, thanks for the info :)
I think I might simply say "I am aiming for the Japanese language as my field of study in Japan"
Short and sweet right haha

Yeah,that's what I meant,that paperwork. ^^
About how much would you say the medical examination would cost? I keep asking about this cause we have a bit of an issue with the money.. ^^;
That's good to know.. :3
Yep! Thanks! ^^

I was wondering about that too..I suggest you ask at the embassy or consulate though just to be sure..Better not to risk it! xD

When they say the last 3 years, does this year count? Also, I didn't go to the university this year and the last one. How should I do for the transcripts. I'm counting on the Certificate of passage of university entrance qualification examination in this. So, if someone could give me the exact meaning of it that would be great.

Hey! I don't think this year counts since it isn't a full year completed yet. That's why I'm waiting till this school year ends(making better grades) then I can put that down as the most recent year. In my opinion, the certificate of passage should be great to show and should make up for your grades if they aren't good. But I also read somewhere around here that grades are important but people still advanced despite their bad grades ^_^

I'm in the same boat financially... But I'm going to do the check up on Monday or Tuesday. I'll give the USD equivalent and you can do the conversion.

Hi! Since I want to do medicine, I have to study for Math B, English, Biology and Chemistry. I'm also trying to learn some Japanese... we'll see how that goes xD

Thank you guys! I have to study Chemical, Math, English, Japanese and Biology.

The test is difficult? I mean I kind of sucks in math...So, if I do well in the others subjects I got a chance to go to the next step of the program?
