Monbukagakusho Undergraduate 2015

Hey Keshant, could you also send me papers please?? My mail is [email protected] I'm also trying to apply for the medicine field, but Math B keeps giving me problems. :S

Here is the link to the previous test ( Government-sponsored). Concerning how to fill out the applications, the forms are not out in my district but maybe the embassy in your country posted an application guideline like the embassy in my country did with the application forms. Also as for your last question, one can work but not during the first year of preparatory study.
If you read page 25 of the Osaka University's guidebook for foreign students, including Monbugakusho undergraduates, it should give you a bit more insight. (this is the link to the pdf: http://www.osaka-u.ac.jp/en/guide/international/student/files/guidebook09.pdf )
I had found some other information about it but I can not seem to find it at the moment so if anyone else has more information please do share.

Thanks for the info. For the previous test I've completed up to 2010, but the website does not provide tests from 2011 onwards so I'm hoping someone could help send it to everyone :D thanks a lot!

Hey guys, undergraduate applicant to social sciences here (I want to do business administration). Can someone kindly send me the past papers for undergrads for English, Math and Japanese from 2011-2014 please (email, [email protected]) ? Much thanks. And another question, is Math really important if you want to do Social Sciences (specifically Business Administration)? If you theoretically score high in the Japanese and English exam, will a low Math mark prevent you from obtaining a scholarship? Especially considering not much people will be applying where you are applying (I live in Trinidad and Tobago).

How much it costs to get all the paperwork done? Well, in my case, I need to pay for a passport and pay for sending in my application to the consulate. Or, if you can hand it in in person then I guess that's one less extra fee.
As for the grades, I called my consulate and I asked about that. The lady told me that all the pieces of the application come together. So in my opinion, maybe if the rest of your application looks good, then I think that it doesn't really matter so much. I also think that the exams and interviews are most important.

And the Japanese exams, I've heard several things on that. I've heard that it doesn't matter, I've heard that in Social Sciences it plays a bigger role, and I've heard that doing good on Japanese may simply be a bonus. What do you think??
But the math exams are so difficult T__T
So, any tips for studying for the math exam? My thought is that math is where people really don't succeed at. And I've heard that in the past, at least for other countries, undergraduate students didn't get the scholarship because their math exam scores were weak.
And math is my only problem. I took some problems to my math teacher, and it helped lots but is there another source where I can study for (math related) things that may appear on the exams? There was a site posted already and it looks great, but I guess I am just confused on where to start. There are so many things that could pop up on the math exam, and so I find it hard studying for that. Should I just study as much math as I can pretty much?

I went to the embassy on Tuesday and the lady told me where to get everything translated so I knew where to look for the prices :3
And thanks for reminding me about the passport..I need to get mine renewed and I keep forgetting about it.. ^^;
Hope it'll work that way cause my grades are really quite bad.. xD
Yeah,the lady at the embassy told me so..She said that that's what really matters in this case..the application just matters in the first screening from what I understood..
Btw,you're going for Social Sciences too? What Major? ^^
From what I've read online,the Japanese exam is indeed just a bonus since you're not required to know any Japanese in order to get this scholarship..My strategy is to focus on the math and if possible get my Japanese up to scratch so as to get that bonus point since I can't really rely on my math skills..Still,math comes first.. ._. xD
If you come across any good site for math,could you tell me? Math's my main issue with this exam.. ^^;

I have yet to meet a first year foreign undergraduate who can speak/read/write Japanese fluently. I can only assume then that it is a bonus to have Japanese skills, and not necessary. I know next to nothing about the Monbusho process for undergrad's, though.
 
Squishy, I also plan on applying for social sciences :) I would like to major in Japanese, art, or music. But I still have to look into it more. And I decided to simply go through and complete past years math exams until i fully understand it:)

Oh, by the way, I have a question about the letter of recommendation.
To the Applicant : Please indicate your full name above. Give this form and one of the envelopes marked "confidential" addressed to yourself, to the person you
have asked to recommend you. Ask this person to place the completed form in the envelope, seal the envelope, sign across the seal, and return the unopened
envelope with your application.

I have never done this, and never heard of this until I looked into this scholarship. Could someone explain to me how I do this? I don't understand this part at all, and I can't seem to find find a guide on the internet for this. Thanks!

Well,the lady told me that it's usually just 2-3 people so I assume (and kinda hope) that it'll be that much this year too..

It should increase your chances for the document screening but from what I've understood it won't be much of and advantage as far as the exams go.. ^^

As for the recommendation,I honestly have no idea how it works..^^;
