1. それにしたって、Ａとは言わないけどＢプラスは取れる かなって思ってたんだけど・・・。

My translation: "Even so, though I didn't expect an A, I thought I would get a B+."

a) Is それにしたって = それにした + って? What does it mean?

b) Is my interpretation of Ａとは言わない reasonable?


2. The speaker is worried about his poor grades in psychology:

俺、こんなんで大丈夫かな。来年は、心理学で卒論書こ うと思ってたんだけど・・・。

I think the second sentence means "I was hoping to write my thesis on psychology next year."

What does the first sentence mean? What is こんなんで?


3. くよくよするなよ。お前だけじゃないって、成績悪かっ たのは。

My translation: "Don't worry. You weren't the only one to get bad grades."

Is this correct? What is the purpose of って? Is it essentially marking a topic? Sorry, I know I ask about って a lot, but I don't feel I have a very good handle on it.


4. なんか、ちょっとしたミスをね～。１０倍ぐらいの、こ う、なんていうのかな、すごいミスしたみたいなこと言 って・・・。もう～、すごく陰険なんですよね。

My best attempt at a translation: "I made a small mistake. He [= the speaker's boss] mentioned it about ten times, as if it was a terrible mistake. He's really nasty."

Is this anywhere close?


5. Following the previous sentence, someone else says something like "don't worry, he's always like that" (referring to the boss). Then the speaker continues:

ん、でもね、いつもだからね、やっぱりすごくショック なんですよね。

To me, this appears to mean "Even so, because he's always like that, it was of course a big shock.", but this makes no sense at all. Where am I going wrong?

This （た）って is an adversative conjunction. It's the same as それにしても.

Even though the things are actually so(= I didn't get even a B+)

b)
Yes, that's a good translation.

2)
こんなん is a colloquial form of こんなの(= こんな成績).

3)
This って is a sentence final particle. It's close to よ here.

4)
ちょっとした is an adjectival phrase, meaning "small/little". This is an idiom, and した doesn't mean "did" here. The rest part are OK.

5)
The original Japanese sentence exactly means so. The speaker would want to say whether he is always so or rarely so, it's a shock, I think.

5. It's the から part that really confuses me. If から means anything like "because" then the whole sentence is nonsensical to me...

10倍 is "multiplied by 10". Blown up ten times the original amount. 1000%.

10回 "ten times" is like "once, twice, three times, etc"
