We do not deny the existence of God nor the existence of heaven and we all work in this short life for the pleasure of Allaah and enter the eternal paradise in the afterlife....

No, the reason you are a muslim is because you were born in a muslim country to muslim parents who raised you to be a muislim. Also leaving islam in your country is frowned upon, so you have no incentive to look into other religions.

And confirmed by the scientific miracles of islam

I have no religion, it's not that I don't believe in a "higher power", but I don't believe in a single entity (basically I don't believe in Monotheism). I'm not sure what is out there, however I think things are either really simple like a connection between us all both living and non-living or really complex that goes beyond human comprehension.

I'm agnostic about the existence of God, and am pretty well convinced that if He does exist, none of the world's various religions, with their contradictory, obscure, and ambiguous doctrines, understand God's true nature or intentions.

I responed to your post on why you are really a muslims and why the quran is not 100% scientific. Instead you give me this. I am committed to dialogue otherwise I would not have bothered to reply to your post. You have several links telling you why Islam is not 100% scientific and you have avioded it. Don't worry I am not just targeting islam, If you where a christian saying the same things I would debunk those claims as well.

this topic has opened before, so we don't need to open this anymore .
we've different people from different societies so we can't has the same idea . the problem that we know that Islam is the right religion, but on the other hand the Christianity think so too and the other religions.
Mycernius is atheist, Jericho Desu is Agnostic, me is muslim, others are Christian or even Boddists.
if you had a thought from your childhood, it would be hard to change it though the time.

There is a lot of religion preaching stuff it seems...

I'm atheist of course (of course, because if you read the other religious pushing threads you could tell that by my responses) Until someone actually proves there is an invisible thing in the sky or can test, and reproduce evidence for the existence of some super invisible sky daddy, I'm not about to believe it just cause someone says so, or someone long ago who likely had mental problems says he heard voices or saw gods.

Therefore, I have no religion.

Since Mycernius brought it up, I grew up with a mom who does believe in a sort of spiritual power, and often sways between Judaism and agnosticism. My dad is I think is Agnostic. My sister, maybe Christian or Deist. I was home schooled, and we actually used Christian based homeschool books since they had the full text with them. I often seriously questioned things that were put in those books, and often disagreed with the judgments and statements made. My grandparents on both side were Baptist Christian, so where Cousins; however, often I found their behavior and arrogant claims of morality revolting and hypocritical to an extreme (of course that isn't connected to the religion as much as the person). As far as I know, I'm actually the only atheist in my family and take pride in not believing in what I see as rather silly superstitious comfort based on delusional fantasy worlds, and find it scary that people can base their entire life on just being told what is right and wrong rather than deciding for themselves based on experience.

However, at the same time, I am absolutely for freedom of religion, belief, and freedom of speech.

I have no religion. I consider myself a freethinker, i.e. someone who constructs his own system of thought without bowing his mind to any form of authority, except reason.
Concerning the question of divine existence, I'm agnostic atheist (or weak atheist if you prefer). I don't believe in the existence of deities, but I don't believe that gods cannot exist.
I think that's one of the most rational positions one can take with the current state of scientific knowledge: there's no evidence supporting the existence of any such entity; in fact, most, if not all, natural phenomena that were explained by divine intervention in various scriptures, are now elucidated thanks to science, without involving any metaphysical agent (there are many examples, but on top of all, creation myths). But there's also no way to disprove such an existence (just as you can't disprove any theory which does not obey Popper's criteria of falsifiability).
if you had a thought from your childhood, it would be hard to change it though the time.

Iceman, that would be the tendency if you were born in an environment that discourages freethinking and self-quest based on rationality. Like Emoni I wasn't born in an atheist family, and I'm proud that I came to think for myself and develop my ideas based on my reasoning and life experience. You can't generalize and consider that everybody follows what they were indoctrinated to believe when they were little.

The sites linked by Mycernius are NOT for fun, and some of them comprise scientific articles and no reference to religion or any religious source.
Sorry to say this, but people who tell you that Koran has scientific miracles are either delusional or liars. Actually, I think the very reasoning behind the Koran containing scientific miracles thing is flawed...
But I hope that you concede to discuss this on the other thread. You could bring an example of a "scientific miracle in Koran" and we would discuss it and dissect it.

I am a Muslim and the reason that set me on Islam. Is the Koran and i dont care anything because I am sure that the religious right 100%

That's impressive. Ask me anything you want, and I would probably never reply with a percentage higher than 99% of certainty. There's always a margin left to misconception, misunderstanding, ignorance and the like.

I am afflicted by this berserker rage every ******* time I see this 'oh, go read my holy book and come back afterwards' nonsense coming out of the mouth of some 'intellectual nihility'. Frankly, there is no bloody reason to read scripture. The non-theists on the forum (especially Mycernius) are being quite easy-going trying to attack the errors present in scripture. In all honesty, however, I see no reason why this should be done. Religion fails on formal grounds and the contents of any given piece of scripture are of no relevance whatsoever. Religion is unscientific in so far as it deviates from science and faith being a core principle of all major religions it is clear that since faith is impossible to reconcile with the logic employed in the field of science, religion itself is divorced from science. A science-religion dialogue is impossible. As for this thread, the true meaning behind the title is something to the extent that 'why is your religion not Islam?'.

I see no need to continue in this thread !
It's a waste to discuss religions and faith.

There is an old saying in America: Never discuss politics or religion, except with those who agree with you.

hello Zoon van Ijs

if you wan't me to give Koran scientific miracles . i can
but you have to know if you was really want to Know the truth you should To see well and focus on what i will say .

No one will agree nor belive even if we show many proofs.

hello derfel

We are human beings and live a short life and you are not denying the existence of account to God and ask about good and evil it is a good thing that we are looking for the right and there is no multiplicity of religions is the religion of the one true love so that we are looking for entering heaven without a death on it and I think that eternal life in heaven need Some suffering in the world and help the needy

You're welcome. Although, I wasn't advocating reading other religions and books at all. I have studied world religions in college; however, the only value I found in this was for understanding from a cultural point of view, nothing more.

Love it when you rage on religion :D I totally agree. Well said. I was recently on a bus trip and one guy was talking to another how, "if religion was combined with science we would have a perfect understanding of the world and everything!" My thoughts instantly went to, "OMFG I don't want to even bother getting involved in a conversation that void of reasoning..."

No one will agree nor belive even if we show many proofs.

If you show proof confirming that you think and believe matches what you say you think and believe, this is absolutely valueless to proving the existence of a deity. If you show reproducible, testable, and verifiable evidence that can be compared with other scientific data in various fields, then you would convince almost any non-believer. However, there is absolutely no scientific evidence for the existence of such a being, and no "Some guy says there is in an old book" doesn't count.

hello derfel

No one is denying the existence of a God. You scientifically cannot deny the existence of anything 100%. We are saying that it is HIGHLY improbable because absolutely no evidence suggests or shows that such a thing exists. The burden of proof for PROVING something is on your head, not ours. Please look up the teapot argument.

However, saying any of this is like talking to a wall, just like above example. That is a core aspect of religious behavior. I know that those who are religious on this thread will do one of two things when faced with theories or scientific facts of opposing arguments to their religion.

1) Totally misunderstand science, logic, and the scientific method for showing evidence and how the process works on a basic level.

2) Purposefully and completely ignore any opposing finding, no matter how much testable, and verifiable evidence supports what is stated, and then hide behind "Cause it says it in my holy book, so it must be 100% true no matter what so I HAVE to believe it."

I just recently was talking to a student, she was a hard-line Christian extremist, and joking that I was gay, then telling me how it is sinful, and that it is against nature. I quickly and easily told her that she was not only basing her beliefs on arbitrary logic, but also entirely wrong that it is against nature as it shows up in nature in many thousands of different instances. I sent her a link to Nation Geographic's article on homosexual behavior and her typed response was literally, "lalallala I'm not going to read."

That is the mindset of religion in a nutshell, and the damage, hurt, hate, and pain caused by that sort of behavior is often very apparent in anything opposed to for "religious reasons." Freedom of religion, yes. However, if you dare impose your religion on me, or other people to condemn or cause hurt, or lower someone, expect a verbal *** kicking. Impose religious insanity via physical methods, and expect a full-blown traditional *** kicking.

"Love it when you rage on religion"

The one drawback in being so, uh, ardent in your atheism is that you can come off sounding as if you're just angry at God for not existing.

i'm sure that there's no use in telling those who don't have the same beliefs as yours and force them to believe that
to Mohamed, open Qur'an; Al-Baqoroh: verse 6 to 7

i'm a Moslem, i believe because i know that my religion is the only true religion
