Question: It has been a year since you released a song. Its unusual for you to sing about graduation.

Gackt: I didnt write this song for this occasion. I wrote this song 5 years ago. I was singing this song 5 years ago in my dream.

Question: In your dream?

Gackt: Yes, even the lyrics were exactly the same. There were more words but I made it simple and easier to understand. So people can get the right concept of this song.

Question: So the lyrics just happened to be "graduation-ish"? (or about graduations)

Gackt: Exactly, I wasnt even sure if I was asleep or awake. I got up and grabbed a IC recorder (voice recorder) and sang into it. I wrote down the lyrics. Then I showed this song to a producer but this song was not right for the concept I was working on(laugh). I write songs based on a concept, so I could not even sing it on the tour at that time. I didnt touch this song since after that. I met a high school boy on my radio show/program and I had to sing a graduation song for him. I thought about this song, because this song is maybe ok for graduation.

Question: A song you wrote in your dream 5years ago and you met a boy and you happended to sing a graduation song for him and now you are releasing this song??? dramatic isnt it?

Gackt: People like me can really find a reason why we are here. Plus doing what we are doing, when we can support someone. For example, that graduation ceremony, I dont really know how much I could support them by singing this song. But at least some of them got what I wanted them to feel/say. Actually, lots of them cried. I saw them crying and felt good about singing this song. I felt like I did something for them.

Question: So it was a surprise show for hundreds of students. What did the graduation ceremony look like to you?

Gackt: At the last second of the ceremony, the school principal introduced me as if I was his friend. The whole school panicked because the ceremony was almost over so both the kids and the adults including the parents were feeling the actual graduating emotion. They were feeling happy and relieved and all those mixed up emotions, you know what I mean. And there I was.
After I sang, all of them seemed like they understood what graduation actually meant. "This is it, the farewell" so lots of students were crying.

Question: Even boys?

Gackt: crying!!! More boys were crying than girls. Some boys crying out loud making their faces red like a baby. I thought they have a good heart. Girls were moved because I was singing. But the boys were moved by puting their situation into the song. Feeling what I was singing, and thinking what they are up to at that moment. Boys were more shining than girls. That graduation ceremony must be one unforgettable graduation ceremony. I personally got lots of things from them and learned lots from it.

Question: So this song is very manly song, a song guys can sing.

Gackt: Maybe, but this song is nothing like my university graduation(laugh) but this is something what I wanted. When I read the lyric again, I feel dear. I actually wonder what my friends are doing. Graduation is something everybody has experienced at least once.
I hope everybody thinks about their own graduation listening to this song. When you move on to something new, there is always a farewell. same for me, there are people you dont make contact with. I wish this song brings a good old memory of graduation including the feeling of dear and sadness to all the students who will graduate this year and all the rest who had graduated.

Question: Last question. Starting from this song, your new year starts. how do you want to make this year for you? There is a rumor that you are going to do more than just singing.

Gackt: Lots and lots(laugh) I will put all my power to my music career. I dont want lose, and I want to master the ultimate vocalization of mine, so its fun. I am going to put all of myself into the music, because I am going to act on drama. Drama is part of my activities, I think. and I hope I get back something from acting on drama. Hope you enjoy watching me.
*ummm, I think by drama he might mean raw emotions. Emotions that are so great they can move you or suspend you for a moment in time---thats just my thought :)*☝

yes he really does write some beautiful music. His english is ok too. Have you heard the Silent night version he did with Ayumi Hamasaki. Their english is very cute :)

Everytime I track my shipment...it says 'There is no record of this item' :(
That's so not cool...but the tracking information for my last CD wasn't even updated until I got it...so I have no clue what's going on!

Jeez... I think that one of my favorite songs by him is Nine Spiral. He's singing really low and it sounds really awesome!
