How do you pronounce "JREF"?

The voiceblog thread got me thinking about this recently.

How do you pronounce "JREF" in your head? Or in your mouth if you actually say it aloud?

Do you say each individual letter, or do turn it into a word or two?

Personally I pronounce it as:

J (as in I say the letter's name) Ref (as in the first part of referee)

Well....if you believe the crap that was being peddled to us several months back, then it should be said J-R-E-F for Japan Reference and Eupedia Forums.

But I say it J-Ref. I just can't see the current administration having enough foresite for the first example. There is too much trouble just wording a post without offending the very country this forum is here to discuss.

That's absolutely correct! It has come up in the past, though. When I met some other members here in person I first was made to realize that not everyone thinks of how to say JREF the same. It's very interesting to me for some reason.

When I first came here, I thought it's called "J, R, E, F"(individual letter), like "jay-ar-ee-ef", same as Tomii.
But then, after a while I heard it or saw it somewhere someone calling it "J-ref(jay-ref)". So, I'm familiar with both.
