Are you able to walk all the way from Malaysia to Japan?

For those of us who can walk on water , no problem.

If you travel by land to Japan, you can reach Sakhalin, Russia, where the sea freezes in winter.
The distance from Sakhalin to Cape Soya in Hokkaido is 40 km, so if you are lucky you may be able to walk on the drift ice.

That's scary 😨 don't fall through the ice if you do!

Having swum some in my past, I wondered about swimming from Korea to Japan.

It's been done--Korea to Tsushima island. ~50km, some reports say a little more (53), some a little less (48).

Route suggestion based on Google Maps (KL - Tokyo, no swimming but ferry):

Kuala Lumpur - Bangkok 1,460km (296 hrs)
Bangkok - Hanoi 1,271km (259 hrs)
Hanoi - Lạng Sơn 150km (31 hrs)
Lạng Sơn - Pingxiang, Guangxi (~25km) Borders between VN and PRC are currently closed.
Pingxiang, Guangxi - Shanghai 2,118km (477 hrs)
Shanghai - Kobe (ferry: 2 days, 100,000 JPY one-way standard)
Kobe - Tokyo (along Tōkaidō) 542km (114 hrs)

~5,566km of walking (~1,200hrs) +
~46.5 hrs on the ferry.

As a matter of fact, one member of our sister site cycled from the UK to Japan.

Considering the fact that I can only doggy paddle I'm still amazed at anyone even thinking about swimming that far😭😭😭🖐
