I'd like to know at least the first 5 songs that children learn by their 4th grade in elementary school.
Links of the score and video would also be great.
either scores for piano or guitar is fine

When I teach guitar to English speakers (adults as well as children), the first song I always teach is Clementine because it only has two chords. (Getting them to make the chords changes back and forth in time to the music is always painful until they can finally speed it up.) Check to see if any of Hiroyuki's songs have only two chords. Or you can just teach them Clementine.

By the way, here is a great find. One of the required songs in Japanese schools is Kamehameha, about the former king of Hawaii. What makes this an amazing find is that all Japanese school children know this song, but the song is unknown in Hawaii.

"Clarinet Polka" -Poland folk song

"Aura Lea"

Hey guys thanks.
I kind of need the tabs for guitar on these songs. Having difficulty finding it. Can you guys help me out on this. Maybe I need a Japanese site to find them, but my Japanese is not all that good to do a search. Maybe some links would help.
By the way, if I may ask, are your lessons one hour long? And if one is teaching not for your primary income, what would be a reasonable fee and would you also offer an open chat ( google chat, skype ) during the week for the students can call in and ask questions on a follow-up lessons ?

Thanks Buntaro.
Do you offer open chat to help your students out during the week as a bonus to your program of lessons ?

Most recently I have been teaching at the university level. so doing as you suggest would not work for me.

If you offer open chat to help your students out during the week, that is very えらい (inspiring; commendable) of you. I think it is a great idea.

By the way, I have never taught music to Japanese people, I teach music to Americans (and only teach English to Japanese people).

Thank you so much. The info was great. I'm a long time customer with the Ube branch and the Yamaguchi store in the walk thru mall .

As always, thank you much.
I'll send a PM about a few questions about guitar teaching to you soon.
The thing about open chat with video, from a beginners wanting to see if things are done well before a lesson, I hope that would be a good point for the parents to understand. It would be included in the fee, but I'm retired and have much free time in the evenings ( currently, that is ). I've done beginner lessons in the past and I learned that after the basics are being taught, then its the "songs" . That was the main reason I needed to find out children songs for kids, but I got the whole English songs for children by " We Sing ". all the American children songs are in these five little books with the scores.
Again, thank you.
