Good Monday morning there folks !!
I voted #2, just to leave room for modesty, perhaps, or for those occasional errors which I do miss, or later catch, but am too lazy to fix. I would of course love to say that I'm number three all the way, but I just know that I'm not quite that perfect--I could be, in the final analysis, at the #2.75 mark between those two. I'm also very busy these days. And many of you know, I love all these little words, I arrange them in various orders and decorate them and....in other words, I'm a long, longer, longest, longester, longestertest writer.
Glenn did do a good job in the explanation. I would point out, that the number of syllables a word has makes the basic distinction: a one syllable word gets the 'er' 'est' suffix, a two syllable word with a 'y' ending also gets that suffix, whereas a word with two (no 'y' ending) or more syllables gets the 'more', 'most' pre-word additions. And then there are the strange ones like 'good' and 'bad' and 'farther' and 'polite' (which can be done any way you want to...)
Lexico san, how about 'She did more badly...' or 'She did much more badly...' and 'She did most badly...' and if you want more emotion, then Sensuikan San was right on. OH NO!!!! I just noticed this was starting to get a little long here....BYE !!!!
AND ONE MORE THING...no, just a joke.... I'm out of here for now...See you !!
