I had a look at Q1 and it seems OK. I think it would be kind to students to say "my father Joseph" on the first line.

I've got quite a lot on - I'm checking a whole book in my spare time! - could someone else have a look at the other questions?

I checked all the problems except the first one. I think they are all fine.
Associating “arithmetic” with planning and judgment is kind of strange but that’s from the original text I guess.

Thanks for the ongoing help, mdchachi. I'm glad to hear there are no problems in my exam questions.

Yes, it's from the original text.

Will it still sound off if "arithmetic" is replaced by "calculation"?

Welcome to the forum, hadjer. You are from Algeria. Which part in Algeria do you live? Is your first language Arabic?

"arithmetic" is better because the three go together as a set -- reading, writing, arithmetic. It's just interesting that he's associating these things with life skills. It doesn't sound wrong, just unusual and thought-provoking.

Oh, I see. In Japanese, we say, "yomi, kaki, soroban". Soroban literally means abacus. It used to be used in elementary schools.
