Obviously not all non-Asians will find Asians attractive! But I think the OP does have a point to his question. ^^ I think that often 'foreigners' have an attraction (regardless of your own nationality and perspective) because of the natural attraction of something that is unknown and therefore seems somehow 'exotic' and interesting. Like the reverse of 'familiarity breeds contempt'... or something. :nuts:

I think it's a conspiracy by the secret pan-Asian government. Doctors employed by the government genetically manipulate their people so they would be attracting to foreigners, also known as "non-Asians". I couldn't disagree more. Whether we respond with silence or with insults, people will continue to ask this and other such questions. We could post a sticky saying "Please do not ask this question" and people will continue to do so anyway.

So it is an inevitable part of a forum like this. That makes the way we respond to it very important, if only because other people read these posts, and they get a feel of what we are like. You can put off a lot of people by being negative. It also works to create a negative atmoshere at the forum in general.

I for one would rather have a postive atmosphere but have to deal with the occasional "stupid" question. If you want more intelligent questions, start your own new threads, but please try to not be condescending towards others, because our members are the lifeblood of the forum, even if they occassionally ask things that we may not particularly like.

There is nothing distant, unknown or exotic about Asian women and there's nothing distant or unknown about Asia. People from Asia are alot like people from the west. It's not the 18th century anymore. Asian women are just like all other women, no different and i know for a fact that they don't like to be treated like an object or to be stereotyped. I personally don't prefer or seek out a certain race or nationality because of how they're portrayed through media or word of mouth. Asianphiles should recognize this too.

When I see an attractive Asian woman, I find her really attractive, the skin tone, the dark hair, the eyes are obviously a factor, and the overall body shape.

I actually don't think the question is particularly stupid.
Since, you are bound to have noticed, everywhere on forums about Japan, seems to be a lot of non-Asians who find Asians really attractive. And actually, good enough question, why? - since looking at it objectively, there are average number of good-looking, regular and ugly Asians as any other race of people. It's only the same question as has been asked over and over again, why so many 'Japanophiles' think Asian women or men are hotter than non-Asian?

IMO, 2 main answers there are (1) like Nurizeko is saying, simply that people have different preferences in body type, if you like dark hair, small build, certain skin tone, then likely you prefer Asian to non-Asian people. And (2) the 'unknown', 'exotic', seems the grass is always greener on the other side, and people have the illusion and see only the good things since it's different from what they're used to (imo an immature attraction and easy to grow out of).

The way I look at it, a hot woman is a hot woman. Being Asian or not doesn't particularly stand out for me.

Yes, you're right--- I've never liked the forum vets (on any forum, not this one particularly) who show instant disdain on the often-asked question--- I just particularly don't like posts about Japanese women, as IF Japanese women didn't even exist on this forum, some people talk about them as if they were discussing the pros and cons of inanimate objects.

I'll try to tone down my response in the future, I really do quite agree with you and find you as a friendly contemporary on this forum who's words I respect and admire... Maybe in the future, I'll just nudge them gently in the right direction.

By the way, does anyone ever call you Mikawa Ossanﾆ探ﾆ停?慊 ﾂ？
