Japanese dudes certainly like to look good, they have as much cosmetic products and stuff as chicks nearly.

Just for an information - he is tall 185 sm and his weight is at about 100 kg - no comment needed here I think.
Me, personally, like strong, wide-back-shoulder men, but when I saw Musashi - in addition of the above there is also and this exotic beauty, plus the look in his eyes, showing one magnificent composure!

It's not that I find him *unattractive* either - just... somewhat normal looking.
On the other hand, I don't find Mana attractive either - at least, not sexually XD because I'm a straight female and he looks just too much like a woman to be attractive to me. ☝
@ Butterbrickle: I don't really see a resemblence; Kaoru has a wider face and more prominent cheekbones and a differently-shaped mouth... but then again, when people will insist on hiding most of their face behind huge glasses they can hardly complain if people compare them unfavourably to other well-known guitarists of the same sex, can they?

Ashanti: Well, I seriously doubt you'll like any of guys on my list. 1) They look like girls, though I've yet to see any girl as beautiful as, say, Miyavi. 2) Some of their photos have already been posted, like Gackt's.

Eh, it's just a marginal similarity. Every part of the guy's face looks a bit like the corresponding part on Kaoru's, but less pretty.

I don't find Gackt sexually attractive. I only like it when he looks fragile and soft and huggable. ^^ Mana... is ugly.

older and newer pics trown together here. right now Yamashita Tomohisa/Yamapi is quite toned. that's very evident in some magazine-pics. his current silky black hair is love. His eyes are very attractive too. He looks more like a 'guy' now. A very goodlooking guy, instead of a pretty girl.
(right now, he's the mainlead in the drama 'Kurosagi' and he sang the themesong of it, 'Daite Senorita'.
I found him very interesting in 'Nobuta wo Produce' as Akira , a very different personality from Kurosaki. I enjoy 'NwP's' themesong, 'Seishun Amigo', cause it's so catchy.)

The thing that appeals to me about him is that although he looks like a girl, if you were to strip him he'd be a man... It's the mystery, the illusion, the crazy juxtaposition of it all... its amazing... In my head, the image and explanation I'm trying to give makes far more sense... and also I guess Mana is a complete opposite of the guy I'm with now and I really do need escapism in my life!!! hehehehe

Hi girls,

it sounds very strange to me while reading some of your posts - how you like men when they look "fragile, soft and huggable", when they look "like girls"!
Isn't the man for being manly? I don't mean exactly he to be big, enourmous, strong or with muscles, but also not being feminine!
And let me put my thought through an example: Robert Smith, the vocalist of "The Cure" - he looks exactly the way Butterbrickle said for some of her guys "fragile, soft and huggable", but at the same time he doesn't look feminine! There is this magic for which Miss Mana is trying to explain to us, but again without the "look like a girl"


So, I've got interested in how to explain such kind of men liking, isn't this a hint for that women are going disappointed from men and start somehow searching for the feminine nature?

Personally, I don't find so attractive men who look too fragile, simply because, they make me feel clumsy by comparison, and if someone makes you feel underconfident in yourself, it's difficult to be attracted to them, right?

I find men attractive partly because they are men. I like men who look 'beautiful', but not gender-neutral!

Maybe some people find extremely feminine men attractive because they give the atmosphere of being gentle and unthreatening? :? Mehh, I'm no psychologist!

I would like to say smth in addition. No need to argue it is good the man to be gentle, but it is very important to keep in mind that the tenderness of some men can make them look somehow weaker, which, personally me, makes me feel like I won't be able to count on this guy in life.
Here is one interesting experiment made by some scientists who have searched an answer to the question "What makes one woman be unfaithful?"
The test is made with a few women, half of them were in such period when they were able to get pregnant, and the other half were not. They have been shown different men faces - which were spread from very gentle and mild to let's say rough men's faces.
The results have shown the first half of the women liked much more the men with rough characteristic faces, while the others liked more the feminine men's faces.
How do they explain this? The deep women's instinct tells the woman to choose the stronger ones, b'cos as Charles Darwin has once long ago said, the strongest survive and are able to best fight life and of course every woman wants the best for her child. So the best would be a strong father who will be able to ensure good cares for his child.
Nowadays, it seems the mark which makes one man strong and winning confidence is the man who has very good material status.
But in spite of this I don't think that the natural human instincts are going to just dissapear or degenerate totally in smth whatever else - for which the above test is a proof.

There are rockbishounen who look very attractive, yet I must say I prefer more 'ordinary'-looking bishounen. I know there are very masculine rockbishounen out there, like Gackt, Yoshiki, etc.
And I would certainly go for the masculine non-rockbishounen.

...I like the fact Mana looks like a girl... I'd never want to change how he looks... I see other artists do what Mana does in the aspect of being totally decieving in potrying their gender, but they look to cute and childlike to be real at times... but, because to me, Mana has more Elegance than cuteness, and that feminine elegance is what I'm attracted to in him...even though I am a staright female myself, and yes If I could have Mana with all his amazingly beautiful, feminine elegance before me and me able to slowly peel away at him to reveal what he really is... to me... is a VERY HOT FANTASY!!!

Ok, a clarification. The fragile and huggable part is only for Gackt, and I don't necessarily find that sexually attractive. But I don't mind guys who look like that. Anyway, I'm really not a good archetype for women. Extremely feminine men, e.g. Gackt or Miyavi, tend to be around as femme as me. My taste in men is probably just a manifestation of my narcissism. Oh, and I've read a lot about the effects of sexual dimorphism on facial attractiveness. The conclusions seem to be slightly feminized men are perceived as more attractive, though women have different preferences depending on PMS time.

Robert Smith is kinda ugly. And Mana is so average without makeup. It's hard to be attracted to him when all's there is genius makeup skills. I prefer his current more "manly" image to the Malice Mizer days though.

I've seen Mana w/ only a little make up and no huge shades. He looks insanely normal. Like not genetically gifted w/gorgeousness at all. But then, I have pretty harsh standards.

Err, I've always thought of Mana as shy and not very prone to sleeping around, despite massive fanfiction.
