Gackt is by far the best Japanese artist. I'm anxious to hear what the mini-album in September will sound like. Anyways, my favorite J-Rock artists are GLAY, L'Arc~en~Ciel, Porno Graffiti (I think they're rock), Mr. Children, and Dragon Ash.

nyaaaaa.....I'm gunna have to disagree wiff yew on the Gackt being the best over all japanese artist thing. I mean yeah, he's gorgious and he's got a great voice, but no one could make a intrament sing sweeter than hide and his widdle gibson guitars. O_O

I've heard hide is pretty good. I don't have any of his solo music, but I have some X Japan. I should probably download some hide when I get home. See if I like him.

Still standing by my decision
I've started listening to hide. That guy is awesome! However, I still stand by my decision about Gackt with hide coming in a very close 2nd. You can almost compare it to the 2nd season American Idol decision.
For the hide fan who got me started on listening to him (a.k.a. Malice Mices), I have the GLAY Rare Collectives vol. 1 CD's and like listening to their version of MISERY, which is off of the 'hide TRIBUTE SPIRITS' album. Do you know of anywhere where I could hear more off of the hide TRIBUTE SPIRITS' album? Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Brilliant album!
I do agree with BlackExodus that Gackt is a better vocalist than hide was, but hide just made better music and he was a more entertaining performer (imho).

aww! i converted another person to hide ism! fwee!! I own 3 hide cds, i'm trying to find Ja Zoo and Psyclone, after i get those two I'll own all of his albums. ^.^ I lufff teh hide, and the gackt...and the aya and the mana and the *list goes on forever*
As for your desision, that's cool, all the more hide awsomeness for me!!
That and I didn;t know we were talking better vocalist but better "artist" I think Gackt is a better vocalist but hide has a much better over all package (not THAT sort of package, hentai tachi! 
) like visuals and music and overall funnness. I dunno just my opinion after all

nyaaa, some other ones you might like if you prefer a more poppish sound are: Eyes Love you, Tell me, Honey Blade, Flame, In motion, and Misery ^.^

I agree with the two recommending the different songs. I would add LEMONed I scream. I think it sounds pretty cool, especially at the beginning. I also recommend GLAY's version of MISERY. I think they did a pretty good job with the song.

yeah, I mean I noticed alot of the singers on her list were more popy, so she might not have liked the more rockish songs ^.^ but then again I think ALL of hide's stuffs good so...lol, actually lemonded isn't one of my favorites xD Drink or die would be another one to suggest, though that one is just meant strictly for a good laugh xD
