Who is your favorite Jpop or JRock artist?

Well, he must not be a teenager cuz. all the boys that I showed Gackt were mostly teens.
 
Don't get me wrong Gackt is a very handsome man, but you said that most of us like him because of his looks and not his music. A WHOLE lot of Gackt fans do not only like Gackt because he's handsome, they love his music as well. There may be better artests better than Gackt, but I still have yet to see it.

Don't get me wrong either, I think Gackt is doing great things musically, original or not (Try downloading "3 Small words" from Josie & the Pussycats and then listen to Gackt's "Another world").

My point is that his whole popularity is incredibly hyped.
I'm just a bit tired of all those girls claiming that he's the second coming or something. This whole idolizing of artists is just way over the top and as remote from reality as it can possibly get.

With all these new Gackt-"fans" coming to the forum, i guess he's just getting too much exposure for my taste.
 
I had watched Josie and the Pussycats before I went to Japan. When I listened to my Japanese brother's "Another World" single, it sounded really similiar. Truly, I think it was a coincidence that they sounded similiar. But I did notice the similiarity.
 
Ah..... now I'm a Gackt Fan too! I like him mainly from his Talent and Looks!

O-o Sorry to dissapoint you Faira but I didn't say that. I said I like his His LOOKS and "TALENT" (meaning his voice and his music). O_O GO back to pg. 10 if you need to see some more proof. o-O

Hmm, it can be many things, but coincidence it is not. This one's very obvious. It's even running in the same tempo.

But it's popmusic and these days everyone "borrows" from everyone. Aikawa Nanase once took the whole intro from a T-Rex song without giving credit.
Happens all the time and it's not just in Japan. In Europe it's even worse.
 
Yea, you're right. It was disgustingly similiar. All I was doing was trying to defend Gackt and his composition skills. But it totally sounds like 3 small words.
 
I don't remember me ever saying you only liked Gackt for his looks, I said most of his fans likes him for his looks and Talent. Someone is reading me wrong. Thank you Twisted I understand what you mean just as long as you understand a lot of us are not a Gackt fan because of his looks. Oh and I cant download music from Kazza or anything like that, I could get fined and all that fun stuff, they are really getting upset about using Kazza in America so I had to stop.

O_O well, you did say that yes? Anyway I really got into Gackt 1st by his Music but I started to even like him more after I found out how he looked. But it all started with his music. Well, I still like him for his music rather then his looks. :)
 
Just a thought

I think it might be a good idea to move this whole Gackt thing to another thread. Everyone is just going on and on about Gackt (Gackt is a cool topic, though.) when the original question is "who is your fave artist?". I can't remember how long we've been talking about Gackt. So, if we started a new thread about Gackt, since he is so very popular, we might get a whole batch of people who want to participate. Just a thought.
 
I like Do As Infinity. They're cool. ^_^ I've heard a couple of their songs and from what I've heard they sound good.
 
If you like good written popsongs, you'll like Do As Infinity.
 
i don't really like one group/artist. but right now i'm into L'Arc En Ciel, and Move.

I LUV DO AS INFINITY! I think they are the best band I've ever heard. I love they're songs. They're my favorite musicians in the world. Dai makes great melodies, Ryo be gettin' down on the guitar, and Van Tomiko has the greatest voice I've ever had. Even though I don't know what they are saying sometimes. (I don't know Japanese...) But I'm working on it! Plus, Van Tomiko kinda cute!👏
 
Wooooo L'Arc~en~ciel they are cool I know a friend who has almost all thier CDs and had listened to them b4.Has anyone heard of dragon ash?
 
I also own almost all their cd's. I think i still have to buy Dune.

Dragon Ash used to be quite cool, when they were still doing hip-hop combined with punk. These days they're only into hip-hop combined with R&B. I still have to listen to their latest album though.
