I've been in Japan for 8 days and I miss my little kitties so much.

There was this guy on another forum who seemed to not know some basic facts about the world and generally asked too many questions about simple things. His English was pretty bad too. Some people ridiculed him and even called him a retard. Sometimes I too expressed my frustration at him. Turns out he recently came to the US as an orphaned refugee, having lost his father to the Viet Cong invasion of Khmer Krom lands in South Vietnam when he was very young. His mother died soon after, and he got separated from his older sister. He spent years wandering the country with no home and no school, until an old lady brought him to Cambodia and then to Thailand, from where he somehow found his way to America. It just felt rotten to discover this. I wish I had known before. Maybe he found it too painful to bring up the past, or he didn't want to appear to be asking for pity.

Point taken, but I didn't say anything about me taking an "attitude" with him. I thought I was incredibly restrained in dealing with him, unlike some of the others who called him a retard and an idiot. I got frustrated several times and tried to ask him why he kept posting inane questions and communicated so poorly, but he never answered. It took someone else to tell me the reason for his problems.

Anyway, I am now helping him with his English by sending him spell-checker, dictionary and grammar resource links, and with his fact-finding skills by showing him how to use online encyclopediae and such.

Heh, actually, no. But I do have a friend that does. Funny stuff, only happens when he's hung over. We'd be watching a movie and he'd cry at all the sad parts.

As for myself I'm among the shortest in my promotion and it's not always funny
Anyway it's not that I've never felt sad but I find it easy to keep sad emotions inside and not to show them...dunno why...
