I came along since I knew Thomas from another forum.

I think that Thomas created these forums as a natural extension of his japanreference.com site. I don't know ... I'm guessing on this point.

my first 14 years in california the other 6 in texas less the summers in cali save this last one. as far as blood im a mix of nearly half of europe, germany being the biggest contibuter since my oma came to the states after WWII. and abit of american indian as well.

Well, I was born in Virginia, but spent most of my life in North Carolina before moving back to Virginia. Southern and have the accent to prove it...

As far as my descendants are concerned, my father's side is German-Swiss/Swiss-German(whatever you want to call it) and also a touch of Native American in there, and my mother's side is pretty much all English. Her side of the family came to Virginia in 1613.

I think i know how they pronounce it , but not certain, i know how i would pronounce it. Gerhard , i would simply remove the "h" Gerard, but that has probably to do with my former french studies and that we have a quite special pronouncation in swedish.
Gerhard... isn't that french ?

id say it was german, and that it would probably be pronounced gehr-hart, where gehr rhymes with air.

German here (like a bunch of others)
but my grandma was Russian, so I have a Russian name. The government first wanted to forbid my parents to give me that name because the name sounds like a woman's name in german though it's a typical man's name in Russia. Oh well, I still got it. I'm fine with it.

I guess I'm JDM but assembled in the USA. so...not sure between Japan and USA. My dad is a 1st gen Japanese American and my mom is 3rd...whatever.

No one from Bulgaria Well i'm from Bulgaria

Do you know where is that ?? I really doubt about it . Bulgaria is famous in Japan whit one of our best football players Hristo Stoickov and our milk ( yoghurt ) products Man today i ate a lot of yoghurt

it was very funny for me to hear what common people in japan think about bulgarians. It's fun to hear such funny things

Anyway i'm a half a bulgarian and a half a nigerian

Sorry to ask but Ariel is that male or female ? For me it sounds feminine. but "Ariel Sharon" (2 girl's names ) in Israel is a man.

I'm from New Zealand, living in Kagoshima Prefecture.
What's up with "New Zealand and Australia"???? Don't you know we are two TOTALLY different countries and at times are almost enemies???

Of course I know, but there are more than 200 countries in the world and I had to classify them by region. There is surely more difference between 2 European countries (take Finland and Greece or Ireland and Spain) or 2 Asian countries (Indonesia and Kazhakhstan ?) than between English-speaking Oz and NZ. I hope you understand...

well there is a certain relationship between the countries of aus and nz, like how a citizen of one can goto work and live in the other without a visa, which would make me think they are the best of friends.
