We all are here with some kind of connection with Japan:

  • Some of us might have come here, liked it, and decided to stay on
  • Some of us might have come here, didn't like what we saw, and went back - but Japan remained at the back of the mind
  • Some may be planning to come
  • And then there may be some curious souls without Japan 1000 ever being more miles around them.
So, I thought that it may be interesting to share our real experience (or the lack of it) with Japan.

I see fingers - pointing out - why the heck I am not putting the foundation stone for this thread.
Hey, I already put the first one.

The second about me and Japan? Well, I need to summarize 20 years in 200 or so words and am thinking about that as a kindergarten student

So, why don't we start when I get my much-needed (another glass of) beer to think that today was better than tomorrow?

Nice one, @HJain! Last month, it's been twenty years for me, too, but I completely forgot to honour that day. I came to Japan twenty years ago to embark on a legal internship, never planning on staying longer. Eight months turned into twenty years, and although I've never been in the legal trade, I have never regretted a single day. Twenty years is longer than any period I have spent in other countries, including my home country, and I'm a quinquagenarian.

That's my story in 80 words. Now beat that.

So you've been in the illegal trade for 20 years and have never gotten caught! That's impressive.

... worked in the legal trade... anyhow, never been caught.
