Haven't got around to creating a wireless access point yet and still using ad-hoc, because I am afraid of screwing up the VOIP phone and internet connection while I blunder through the Japanese ISP software.
All using xp-pro (so I can understand the dialogue boxes on the japanese machines)

I guess that's it...I pretty much just turn it on and hope for the best. I have to say though, that I just love my lit keyboard. I hate using too much electricity so I am usually in the dark (at night) and having a light up keyboard is perfect or me.

I have 7 computers, 4 desk tops and 3 laptops and I can't use one of them properly. The last two lap tops I bought have the fastest quad core with 4 gb of ram and my photoshop computer has the fastest quad core with 8 gb of ram and 8X 500gb hard drives and a nice $2K video card.

I have a Macbook Pro too, and the same stats as yours, however, do you really need the backlight on the keyboard? I never use it, but it sure is nice to have, just in case I ever do.

I got a pretty good rig here, but I get the feeling I'm not quite getting as much performance out of it as I should (in terms of the framerate). Not a spyware problem, drivers are up to date, CPU temperature is fine, all my RAM timings are optimal, and my GPU is normal clock speeds (I never overclock). Any ideas?

@Faustiandeals....I LOVE the back lit keyboard. It's great to be able to see the keyboard at night. It just lights up the letters. I have to admit that I think it looks really cool as well.

I also have a Gateway laptop and a Dell desk top....added to all of that is my husbands Macbook, Mac desk top and a Sony Vaio laptop and his Dell desk top. I think we have far too many computers, but amazingly they all have their purposes and all get used.

I haven't upgraded my computers in so long! They're hangin in there by a thread... my wife recently got a sweet new Sony Vaio laptop, which is nice, but can't remember the specs. In fact, I have a total of 2 PC's and 3 Laptops in the house and at this point I don't know the specs on any of them! Seems to me the older I get, the less brain allotment I have to keep track of things such as computer specs.

I haven't updated in ages anymore. Still running a AMD 64bit 3500+ , 1GB RAM, GeForce7 7600, and a 160GB SATA disk. Also running Debian Etch at the moment. My next pc will probably be an iMac. First my move to Finland and a job. Then we'll see!
