I agree. The fugu meat I've had didn't seem like anything special. It barely had any flavor at all.
One food you might call exotic is sea cucumber, which I enjoy a lot.
I haven't seen it being prepared, so I can't say for sure whether it was raw or possibly boiled. I do know that it's often cut crosswise into circular slices, and served in a vinegary sauce. Apparently it doesn't have much of a flavor on its own, and is eaten mainly for its texture.Sea cucumber sounds interesting, is it eaten raw or cooked or both? How would you describe its flavor and texture
?
Can anyone share some good medium difficulty japanese foods that doesn't have any pig's meat in it.
About ramen.. is there any "anime ramen"? When I google ramen I get some quite plain looking dishes, and I would like to try ramen with more texture and with a darker color, the ones I found didn't look the way I imagined ramen would be. If you get my point^^
P.S The only "japanese-ish" food items I've found in my local store have been instant noodles (the ones in a packet http://ungroup.net/jjntemp/nood/nood_mama.jpg), wasabi paste and edible seaweed.
Thanks!
Kimono. There are lots of different kinds of traditional clothes, and many are worn by both sexes.Kimono is for women, but what is the mens version called?
