Japan seems like an extremely interesting place, with a diverse culture.
I would be interested in seeing the major cities, such as Tokyo (certain parts of it, maybe), but also the rural areas, maybe the countrysidce.
I have, sadly, never been there, but hope to some day.

Where in England are you travelling? Specific parts of England are different to others so answers may differ depending on where you are travelling.

Tokyo is big city. A lot of people and many high-rises.
I think that there is a cool place.

I Recommend to come in summer.There is....green!!! But japanese summer is sultry.
Countryside is good healing spot i think.

London is a very busy area, but not nearly as busy as Tokyo. There are many interesting things to see there, such as the London Dungeon, Buckingham Palace and the Tower of London. Depending on when you are visiting, it may rain, but it can also be surprisingly hot.
Compared to the rest of England, London is a very large city, but it is small compared to Tokyo.

hello...

Japan is very interesting country for me...huge mix of modern and traditional culture...love it or hate it...I guess there is still fighting, like Japan couldn't find itself in this new age but still is able to be one of the economical powers in the world...it is hard to believe that it really works somehow.
I would love to go to see Tokyo and the big cities and as long as I am j-rock fan I would like to see some good concerts there.
I can't tell you much about England...sorry...I haven't ever been there...

A1: yes I like Japan a lot that's why I have lived here for 8 years. It's a great place to live: very convenient with lots to do everyday and it's usually easy to get to. It's also very safe and has an enjoyable atmosphere.

A2: Yes, Japanese people are generally very nice once you het to know them but you often have to break through many layers of shyness and tatamae to get to the real person.

A3: I used to associate technology with Japan but not anymore, Japan seems so backwards when actually using technology that it is amazing that the image of Japan from the outside is so opposite. Now I associate consumer driven society with Japan more than anywhere else, a lot of the technology is stalled to keep people buying. There is very little public wifi because then people wouldn't buy emobile wifi devices.

A4: I'm going to have to go with inefficiency: Japanese people work far too long hours but just don't have the production that matches it. All the Japanese people I have worked with have been very slow to do anything and have wasted a lot of time during the day so they have to stay late. I used to feel sorry for people working so much but not anymore.

A5: I have been all over Japan except for Kyushu, I would very much like to go here as it seems a lot more relaxed and chilled out than the heavily industrialised places.

All my observations are based on the Kanto region as this is the only place I have lived and worked.

My general impression of Japan is that it's a wonderful place to live but an awful place to work. My dream is to work for a company that knows what it's doing and hires people who work hard 8 hours a day! Just a dream though (^_&minus&minus;☆
