I just left a visitor message for someone and I realized that I've been here for 1.5 years. Where did the time go! How much I've struggled and learned! I'm fairly new here, though. Let's see what the responses tally up to...

Feel free to round up or down; I rounded down and voted 1 year.

I have been here for 3 years !
Gosh i feel like it's one year.......@@

2 years but it feels just about right, but I'm amazed at how much progress I've made in those years, hopefully in another 2 years I'll be much better at speaking then I am now =)

Sheesh, 5 years. Mind you if you look on join dates Mike Cash is about near the longest serving member here.

I just saw, which is why I was going to put something over 8 years, so if you want to edit the poll to include 9 and 10+ years, I'd appreciate it!

Maybe he, like I, dislikes blogging.
I think he has better things to do... 😌

Well, he used to have his own website (or just a webpage?) where he wrote about living in Japan.
I think I've seen his photos somewhere... maybe Flickr?
He's a good photographer, too.

I too saw his pictures, the flowing river and something about a dead monkey...

Whoa.. I just realized I have been here for 3 years too... I was almost thinking my join date was a mistake or something.. haha.

It was my five years anniversary just last week 👍

I've joined other forums but I never stay there. This is my home 😊

I chose 7 years because I had another account that one day, I forgot my password too. I was too dumb to reset it...haha.

It was Punk窶堙?...something. I signed up in 2003 and again in 2005.

@Mycernius
You joined one day before I did 😌.
You were young, still in the Netherlands and single then. Now you are married, one child and living in Japan plus your English has really improved since then. All in 5 years.

(actually I wasn't single at that time, I came to the forum because my wife (girlfriend at that time) is Japanese).

Don' forget that I became a lot cooler as well :D

2005 was a good year :D

Of the people who have selected 5 years, Mycernius, Dutch Baka, epigene, Tsuyoiko, and myself, I am happy to say that we have all become great "web friends" as well and it has been a pleasure knowing all of you. Here's to another, shall I say it, five more years.🍾:cracker:🎊

This coming October will mark 6 years for me, so I chose six years.

wow.
now that I think of it, I've been here for almost 5 and a half years (counting from my other account). I can vaguely remember the first time I post here, I've no idea how to get to Japan and confused about almost everything. Now I'm working in JPland and thinking what the heck I'm doing over here >.< hahaha how things have changed and how some things never changed, and how fast time flies.

5 and 1/2 years of mostly lurking tho, and probably another 5 and 1/2 years or more lurking :)

I think of JREF as my second home, LOL.

Over 7 years , over 6700 posts, and over 1000 SPAMMERS banned , I'm always still happy to log in here. May they someday scatter my ashes on the JREF servers, LOL.
Uncle Frank
👍

PS !!! Thank you to all those members who allowed me to be their JREF friend.
