A reason I want to move to japan and live there for awhile is because there are so many games in japan that arent released in america. Like puzzlebobble, where you shoot colored balls, and if you get of them in a row, they disappear and create chains.

The website, unfortunatey, is in japanese, and the game isnt going to be released in america.

How about Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children only being released in Japan from here on out? I love how they think that nobody will buy the movie, or that $260 limited edition box set that you could get on pre-orders. See this is where Japanese and American mindsets differ. The Japanese think that we only want the game, manga, anime, etc and release all the goodies to their own people and the Europeans. Yet they never realize that American fans want that stuff just as much as the Japanese and European fans do. Sometimes it sucks when all you get is a crappy MGS2 game with no extras and Europe and Japan do. :(

Doc 😭

Doc, Final Fantasy VII: Advent children is being released here in the US. From what I'm hearing it's on a PSP platform. I think it's coming out sometime in November. :?

No it's not. SquareEnix USA has opted not to release it due to the poor sales on Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within. Their last press statement was a week ago, and they stated that they haven't made any concrete decisions on releasing the movie here in the States. From the tone of the statement, they most likely won't release the movie here in fear that it will do poor in sales. Most people don't have PSPs, and they're very uncertain about the dvd release. Even Europe may be left out in the cold as well because SquareEnix's Japanese HQs is debating on releasing it there too. So unless the selective showing in theaters across the world don't change Square's mind, we'll never get to see the movie make it Stateside.

Doc :(

Pooor sales!!??, i went to see spirits within TWICE! (im lucky if i go and see a movie once...) and it was so more sci-fi and trying to be somewhat realistic it was watchable!, i didnt once feel like i was on a bad acid trip from all the bright colours and dodgey looking hairstyles and clothes and creatures (man ff's cool but i wish i knew what the dev's were smokin').

They wont release advent children but they will release doom....what a world :S.

I've read some reviews on Doom and the general theme is that the movie is B-A-D, as in sucky, as in awful, as in wretched as in horrible as in miserable as in not worth your money. Even the trailer I saw on TV was hokey and made me chuckle. If that box office bomb doesn't send The Rock back into the ring, nothing will!

:D

haha well what i like from the trailer , is that the movie look like a first person shooter, is this the first time, that they did this is in a movie?

TSW only made $32 million, and broke Square's American division which was one reason why they merged with Enix. What can I say? HQ thinks that only Japanese people will buy it because it's only a Japanese thing since sales are dropping in the Western world. Heh, yeah well here's an idea SquareEnix, stop making half assed games that suck so bad and maybe you might get somewhere you Final Fantasy ******! Not only that, but the ones who made Final Fantasy all quit because the board is so damn corrupt in the first place. It'll be a mircle if we see AC released here in the States, or even Europe for that matter. I mean FFVII made platnum for three years in a row, and it was the Western fans who ate it up the most. I just fail to see Square's logic, but maybe they don't realize we want games that actually kick ***, not be a mindless RPG without a plot (FFVIII anyone?). And if they release it only for PSP then what?! Most people don't own PSPs, and that movie isn't going to make me go out and buy one for $300 either. I'll just import the damn dvd here into the States because that at least has English subtitles! Cheap bastards!

Hmm! I don't know about that, and since I have no intention of seeing it, I won't be able to find out for sure. Perhaps someone here will endure seeing it and give us a report. In the meantime, Doom won the box office battle, raking in 15 million to finish on top. Must've been a damn slow weekend at the movies. Amazing

I like that film too. I saw it at the pictures, and it was the first film I bought on DVD. Have you seen Animatrix? One of the cartoons has some of the same characters in it.

i was under the impression that him moving to japan and wanting japanese games, he would know japanese.

Games are a good way to learn. I spent many an evening with a copy of Dragonquest and a dictionary (yes, I was single once too).

Now I can walk into any convenience store and buy a potion of invisibility; providing of course that they accept gold coins.

Wouldn't that be too real-worldy?

It does seem a bit extreme, but it probably wouldn't be the oddest reason anyone ever moved here.

These two statements don't tally.

What mean is that they said there wasn't any positive decision on the release of the US version here in the States, but by the tone of their press statement and the way they hinted several times throughout it means that they probably won't release it here in the States. That's what I meant.
