Using Photoshop ?? How To .....

Seems to me there is a way to assign more resourses to a program in XP.
When I work in Photoshop, it slows way down due to having about 400 high res pictures. When I reloaded my new XP PRO, it changed all my settings back to default, making Photoshop run at about a third of the speed it used to. I remember under XP Home I changed something that allocated more memory or something to an individual program, making it run much faster. I've forgotten what it was I did? Anyone have an idea what I'm talking about? Anyone know a quick & easy way to speed my Photoshop program up? I have over a Gig of RAM and a 120 Gig harddrive running at 133 ATA, must be some way to gain my speed back and cut down waiting time on my pics?

You could try the Taskmanager (Ctrl + Alt + Del), right click on the Photoshop process (don't know what it's called but should be recognizable), then "Set priority...". Don't know, if that works forever, though. There is probably a better solution possible, but I don't know it.

I don't see the big hype about XP PRO, I'm installing Lindows on this computer on Monday so I'll finally be finished with Windows and OS X forever.
I reccomend you just be finished with Adobe and move to Dreamweaver. Hehe, I'm not very helpful but I am quite the rambler!

What exactly are you trying to do in Photoshop, Frank?

Opening 400 images at once is rather excessive. Even with over 1 GB of memory. We all know how badly Windows manages it's memory. It still uses it's swapfile rather then free RAM memory.
