Today I Am Very Worried About ..........

It's quite disturbing, isn't it?
It sounds like you need a "Neighbourhood Watch" system in your area, or do you have one already. 👍

Today I am very worried about...
my penfriend is visiting me next week for a couple of days, so I am worried if we get along ok... I am taking time out so we can go places, and we plan to go to the sea, too, for one night... I guess I am apprehensive because I know it is something of a risk as we don't know each other really.

o.o

Today I'm worried/worrying about...
that all my effort that I have put since the last few years towards studying in Japan going down the drain. sigh. I just been told that the immigration need the academic transcript for my highschool (and they are damn strict about this + my fault for not asking the agent for the school over here throughly) which I just been inform from my mother that it was lost 4 years ago when they moved. *sounds of a part of my soul dying* And I'm not sure if the school i've been with still have the copy of the transkrip. Since its been like 5 years ago.KILL ME.

Furthermore, the agent told me if I don't get it by the end of the application date, she's damn sure the immigration not gonna let me in Japan, and the 60k of money and all the sweat and blood I've put in this plan all going to be for nothing. And I'm pretty sure there's one other problem that gonna cost me which I'm trying not to think about right now before I can sort out this thing first. Unfortunately I don't have a plan B because I can't think of any and all the other route to study to Japan is pretty much closed to me. Tonight going to be another sleepless night for me T_T much more to come. I feel so useless and helpless and tired. It's ok for a man to cry right?, because I can;t think anything else to do right now, actually i cant even think of anything right now.....................................................

Awwww Rio.......... 😭
Go right ahead and cry, you have plenty reason. :(
*gives Rio big hug*

I got a copy of my high school transcripts 20 years after I graduated. I think most schools keep records for 30 years or more. You may have to pay some money and talk to a few different people, but I bet you will be able to get a copy.

Frank

All the best Rio Lee, I really hope that you can continue with your dream. Is there another school that is perhaps not as pedantic as the school you initially wished to enter? I really hope that it all works out for you.
If worse comes to worst, you can still go there on a holiday, and try to sort some things out when you get there? At the very least try to enjoy some time there, im sure your efforts wont be lost in the long run.
Good luck...

I really hope so, I reallllly really hope so T_T. I have some doubt tho because unlike the united states(probably), the high school administration in this country is a little bit.. how do you say it.. coo coo or koo koo or just plain weird? >.< or at least some of the school i've been attending since junior school, (moved alot when i was a kid).

Thanks a lot Kara_Nari-san, sadly its not the school of my choosing that is causing the problem, its the Japanese Immigration. Since theres alot of misuse of the student visa by my countrymen over in Japan over the past years, the Immigration went from normal to super strict in allowing anyone from getting a college student visa. And thanks for the advice, I seriously hope that it wont come to the worst because 60k of money is really hard to come by over here and for someone like me. T_T

Thank you everyone

Oh darling, I know how hard 60k is to come up with too... I have never managed to save even a quarter of that. But really, I wish upon every star I see, that you will be able to pursue your dream.
From the looks of things you really do deserve it.
Maybe we could all sign a petition thing here on the forum that you can send to the immigration to prove that you really are worthy of being in Japan, and that you aren't going to ridicule the system.
I would put my name on it, and im sure there would be many others that would do that for you too.
Ok let me start one up.

Today I am very worried about my best friend. I just learned yesterday that he lost his job on Wednesday. I can't help but feel sorry for him. He has no job, no money, no health insurance, etc. He said that he's been looking desperately for a new job for the past three days, but still hasn't found one yet. Not only that, but if he doesn't find a job soon he'll be out of a home, and unable to survive.

It bothers me to know that there isn't much that I can do for him. I've offered my home incase he needs a place to live and keep my eyes open for any job offers, but I don't know what else to do. I feel really bad for him. He's the only true friend I have in this entire world and is like a brother to me. It just tears me up inside that he lost his job, and has nothing to fall back on. I just really hope he finds a job opening soon.

He lost his job because of the new strict policies at the office he worked for. Apparently even the head of the human resources department doesn't give a damn about her employees. Right now my best friend despises H.I.P.A.A. for their pushy regulations. He lost his job because his quota was only an 86%. Originally it was in the lower 80s. However, H.I.P.A.A. now demands a 97% quota rate or you're canned. Needless to say my best friend wasn't the only one who got a pink slip. It just really saddens me, and wish there was more that I could do. I hope he finds a job soon, because all I can do for him now is pray.

Doc :(

Sorry to hear about your friend Doc, I hope things look better for him soon. It seems very unfair that the targets were raised like that without some time for him to improve. Is he in a union? But unions in the US aren't very strong, right? Over here I think it would be very hard for an employer to get away with what they have done to your friend, for people in a union anyway.

Well, sorry to turn this into a unionist rant! I hope your friend finds a job. At least he has you supporting him - true friends are a lot harder to find than jobs, IMHO.

Nope, unions here aren't very strong. Or at least not like they use to be, what's been happening is that quite a few firms will talk employers out of joining a union. But I have a bone to pick with a lot of firms anyways. ☝

I believe your friend will get back on his feet, Doc. 👍

I pray that your friend will find a job soon, Doc.

Well, I'm not too worried about this, but it's starting to get to me. In my English clalss I have research project I have to do on the Harlem Renaissance, and it's 15-20 pages and it has to have 20 sources. English is one of my favorite subjects and I enjoy writing and doing research, but I'm beginning to get nervous about this project. So, in the meantime I'll just have to buckle down and do the research and not get distracted because I really want a good grade. :p

Update On 'Friday'

I have not posted in a while and the reason has been that my dog has been ill.

I mentioned in a previous post that my constant companion, my dog Friday, was nearing the end of her life. Well 7 days ago she completely stopped eating and became listless and sort of "out of it". We thought this was the end.

We took her to the vet and it was discovered that she had pneumonia. Other tests showed that she was otherwise a healthy dog. No liver, kidney, or heart problems. X-rays showed that she had pneumonia, but did not have arthritus as the vet had thought. It seems she had a slipped disc in her back that was causing her right leg to fail once in a while. The pneumonia had caused her to become naucious and to stop eating. If we tried to force-feed her she just threw it up.

The vet gave her some antibiotics and gave us some to administer to her, but she would not take them. She refused. After seven days she still has not eaten one piece of food and anything we try to force-feed her she justs throws up.

I took her to the vet yesterday and she was given more antibiotics intraveinoulsly (sp?). She seemed a bit more alert last night, but still refused any food. After seven days of absolutely no food she has lost 6 pounds.

I took her again this morning for more injections and an IV. The vet said this may cure the infection of her lungs caused by the pneumonia and maybe give her the will to eat. Otherwise she is a healthy dog and should live another year or so. After today there is nothing more they can do they said. Hopefully she will start eating again after my wife picks her up tonight.

If not, at least we had the time this past week to say our good-byes and to thank her for the joy she has brought to us these past 14 1/2 years whether she realizes it or not.

It has been a sad week for us.

Pachipro ...

My heart goes out to you and your family ! Bin there ... done that ...!

A few years ago our old Lab/Collie cross "George" had a stroke at the age of almost 16 years.

Almost unable to walk, the old guy was loaded into our van and taken to the 'vet.

He did not return with us.

.... we still haven't got over it! Over drinks or in quiet moments, he comes up in conversation, and we remember him affectionately. (He was a cunning old bugger...!)

A dog is part of the family, becomes a "person" and totally involved in family life. When they become sick or leave us - I feel it is little (nay ... no different) different from the illness or demise of a friend or close relative.

Sadly, their lifespan is substantially shorter than our own. We just have to accept that.

I do hope that you can possibly help "Friday" enjoy a short time more of life - but if what has to be has to be ...

Make sure that the old girl doesn't have to suffer greatly.

Sadly,

John

It's hard to type when you have tears in your eyes!

When my first cat died a few years ago, I bought her home to bury in my back yard(even though it's against the law?). I had a silk men's kimono I wrapped her in and made an aluminum casket for her. I found a cement statue of a cat laying down to mark her grave and my favorite hat hangs on a pole above her. I have a nice lawn chair beside the grave where I sit and talk to her often. I find a great comfort in sitting there talking with her about the daily events of my life. I took a little while to do it, but I finally went to the animal shelter and got a new kitten. I didn't think it would cure the pain, but it did help and Moonshadow is the love of my life now. I'll say a little prayer for your dog Pachipro and hope she spends a few more years with you.

Frank

I'm worried about my cousion, I just found out he's headed for Iraq. 😭 He just finished basic training and I think he's leaving in a couple of weeks. In a sense I'm kind of proud of him, but in another sense I can't understand why he would make the decision. We're just keeping him in our prayers.

Today im worried about....everything, im skipping college because the course im on kills my soul, my grandpa is in hospital, my girlfriend went home recently and i dunno, everything seems topsy-turvy and, i miss the good old days when all seemed right with the world...

That and im having sleep troubles, you'd think that'd be a big deal but the sad thing it isnt because im quiet used to periods of less then stellar sleep.

This time round its getting my brain to switch to sleep mode instead of resting eye mode.

Anyway, so yeah, but as they say, things could always be worse...

Tonight going to be another sleepless night for me T_T much more to come. I feel so useless and helpless and tired. It's ok for a man to cry right?, because I can;t think anything else to do right now, actually i cant even think of anything right now............................................... ......
I know how you feel, i applied for a scholarship to a japanese highschool but i never got it, suffice to say when i came home i cried, i cried as if any inhibitions towards it that i ussually have as a man vaporised. I had hoped so much and looked forward so much that i didnt allow myself time to contemplate failure...

But, theres life after dissapointment, and if i hadnt failed the scholarship, i may have never met my japanese girlfriend, who i met on a pen-pal thing after deciding that if i couldnt visit japan, i could at least make a friend from there...well did i ever 😌 .

Im sure you can get your highschool transcript thingy?, you've worked so hard that you deserve it and im sure you'll get it. 🙂

As for cats, i had a cat called Blacky (guess her colour) i never knew her as a kitten and the first few years of our pet-owner relationship were tense, she had come from a shelter and had bad experiences with younger folk, but, when my mother got a dog, i found blacky came to me willingly, she needed a friend and i needed a pet :P.
She was an old cat near the end but, she might aswell have been a kitten, just holding her, stroking her, having her there relaxed me, my mums dog was energetic and playful but, all i wanted was a pet that enjoyed a nice quiet momment like me, i dare say i loved that cat.

But she was pretty old the day she dissappeared....at first i didnt look for her, my family were sure she would come home by herself, but by the next day we went looking for her, checked the animal shelterm but no joy.

To this day it haunts me that she couldnt die at home with her family, with people who loved her, even if she was just a cat, she was our cat, i hate the idea she may have laid down and died in some dark little corner or under a bush or anywhere where passersby would just see a dead cat, she deserved a burial, in the backyard of her home, now the only reminder of her is that hole in the hedge out front where she frequented to get into the neighbours yard...

All i could do, and still do, is hope she was taken in by another family, at first i was furious someone might have stolen our cat, but...when it comes down to it ide rather she spent her last days with a caring kind family then in the cold and alone.

Awwww Nurizeko.... I'm sorry..... :(
~hugs Nurizeko~
I'm useless at saying things to people when things are going wrong in their life... :(

Cheers for the kind words, i just tell myself, things could always be worse....still....i miss going to bed and falling asleep naturally, i guess its just been such a hectic past month i havnt had time to really stop and think until now so its like woah!, but yeah, thanks 🌹 (i can never find a decent smiley thing :P )

Thank you for your kind words Sensuikan san and Frank and I really know where you both are coming from as an animal does become kind of human to us and they are so much like a member of the family that those who have never had a companion pet will never understand. They will never understand that a dog or cat does indeed have their own individual personality and do not always act on instinct. Both of your words and stories ment alot to me.

Low and behold I think our prayers worked as this morning she ate 3 soft meaty biscuits I fed her! About an hour later she ate another! That's the first food of any kind she has eaten in 8 days and she does seem more alert. She still does not want to eat any regular food, but it's a new beginning!

Right now she is sitting next to my chair while I type this licking her bandage and the bare skin on her leg above her paw that the vet shaved for her IV. Hopefully she will continue to eat, gain back her weight and live another year or two.

Thanks for listening and sharing with me!

Have you been able to get a copy of your transcripts yet? I do hope it all works out for you. Also it's quite ok for a man to cry regardless of what anyone says. Lord knows I did enough this past week thinking my dog may leave us.

Trust me, things will get better no matter how dark they may seem at the moment. That was a very touching story about your cat. Since he/she was old I think maybe it went out to die somewhere in private. Animals are like that. The vet told me that if and when my dog ever stopped being with us and preferred to stay in a room alone that it is probably their time as they usually go off somewhere alone when their time is near. Luckily Friday always wanted to be near us this past week. And she is continuing to eat!

Good To Hear !!

Today I am very worried about my friend. I just found out that his nan died yesterday - she was only in her 50s. He lost his mum when he was 12 and had been with his foster mum until moving in with his nan about six months ago. I don't know what is going to happen to him now - he's only 17.
