It doesn't sound weird - I do that in the Politics and Economics threads (in fact, anywhere where I feel I'm out of my depth or don't have anything to contribute!

).
Hehe, if you're looking for good conversations, I don't know whether you'd be in the right place... the jpop forum isn't known for the intelligence of its discussions. I think sometimes regular posters in other sections look down on us a bit.

I know I personally am guilty of posts consisting mainly of things like "eeeeee! sooo cuuuute!", or "thanks for the pictures!"
And as for the science of stapling, I guess you're right. It doesn't make a very deep injury. Also, because it's using the machine, it's a quick puncture, and they don't hurt so much (like an injection). Plus, staples are really fine (I remember putting my hand on a staple in a piece of wood in class once when I was sawing it up, and I didn't even notice until I'd finished sawing and let go the wood, and there was loads of blood running down my hand and wrist... and the woodwork teacher held it up as an example to the class of what
not to do...

It really didn't hurt at all... and when I washed it... you couldn't even
see the puncture!
