Spiders in Japan? urrghh....

No poisonous spider here, so I don't have any negative image againt it.

I took the photo a while ago. It stayed calm on a woodblock print in my room.

But I hate the centipede, for it bites you.
 
Ahhh... the spider thread has returned.

I used to live in Wakayama and found the monster below in my kitchen one morning. The funny thing is, I used to hate spiders, but now I love them.

Why? Ever since I became acquainted with the mukade, Japan's giant, poisonus centipede, I feel that spiders are definately more to my liking.

Point 1: I have never been attacked by a spider.
Point 2: They eat other things I hate, such as roaches and small mukade.

Mukade, on the other hand..... Several times I have sprayed one with really TOXIC spray (the kind that makes your throat hurt) only to have the mukade turn and come right at me!

Spiders just chill. When I got to close to the big one in the pic, he just took off without being asked.

I took this about 3 months ago at a memorial.

Larger than my hand spread out. At least 6.5" - 8" in diameter. ☝

Has some of the strongest silk in the world that scientists are still trying to mimic. Their webs have been known to catch small birds.

No native spider is poisonous, but now red back spiders from somewhere are prevailing esp., in Osaka, one of the biggest port city.

Wakame seaweed damaging Australian sea is edible, but the spider...
