this is all pretty outdated, my current system is air-cooled and much more toned-down. after a while I decided I preferred a good system that was fast and quiet to a loud high-maintenence machine overclocked to the limit.

i modded out my PC quite a bit...probably nothing like the extent of you dudes!
bout 6 fans and some UV lights!...got uv reactive cable tody and they glow in the dark when i shut my PC down!
My window is covered in stickers and there's all bits hanging off of mine...i'll take some pics at some point!
probably the best thing is i stuck the plastic drive covers over my drives so you can push them in a certain point and they open (drive itself isn't visible)...bout as close as i could get to tuch open!

Nice rigs guys! My Thermal Take 80mm fans came in today, along with my Arctic Silver thermal compound and Thermal Take's Polo 735 Heat Sink.
Here's an update of the bahemouth heatsink.
I wouldn't mind doing liquid cool, if the humidity here in South Carolina wasn't so bad. Especially in the apartments! Loud and fast machines is what I like to hear and see! Mine sounds like a vacumm cleaner now...lol....especially with 5 x 5000 rpm fans ☝
Smoke, is that a 120mm fan hole and ATi radeon 9800 in your case? :? Love the stickers. You need some more! I'm starting a collection now. :32:
Lexico, those eerii blue discs you see floating around in there, is the landing station for the UFOs. They transfer billions of bytes of mathematical equations and pictures onto what you see on your screen.

I have to say, that your photos are beautiful! I now have idea to take pics of the inside of my PC, and then I can maybe use for paintings!

I like those cases, but I would suggest a Chieftec Case. Very easy to install devices and PLENTY of room. You can have up to 5 80mm fans! That's plenty of air moving through it. Especially if you get thermal takes 80mm fans. It's a mid tower. But you want a server? You should go Full tower.

I was looking for one that came with a power supply....I saw the case you posted but I'm looking for somthing a bit smaller. I dont play video games, I was just looking for a case with a different look

the case in my photos is an antec (same as chieftec) full tower. Great case, my only gripes are that they're heavy and the motherboard tray is a bit cramped by the hard drive bays.

Has Anyone Tried......
the motherboards that run 2 CPU chips at once. I'm wondering if the gain in speed is worth the extra money? I'm hopeing to build my 4th unit this winter, depends on how much spare money I have. The only use I have for my PC is the Forum and once in a while watching a DVD. I like having a good system more for the challenge of building it then using it's power. I trying to figure a way to water cool the thing from hoses in the cellar below; the idea being to have "NO" sound coming from the system at all(except a little water woosh & gurgle. I guess I would have to find a large power supply that is somehow fanless to get complete silence as well as boards with no built in fans? I can't bring myself to go for the bells & wistles of lights & fancy paint jobs with see through panels; no one ever comes to my house to see it.

dual CPU boards are only useful for certain applications, and they aren't the ones you use frank... also, it's really easy to mess up water-cooling. I'd only recommend it if you are really good with computers, and ready to gamble all of your hardware.

My new 500 watt power supply is almost silent compared to the old 350 watt that burned out. I tend to buy PC parts thinking maybe down the road I will use all the expensive goodies and have time to learn how to make use of them(never do) .It sure is hard to break old habits!

i know the feeling; I would love to have dual cpus, mainly because i use several applications that would make use of them. water-cooling is a fun adventure, but you have to leak-test everything and make sure there is no condensation or loose connections. Most people who are avid coolers have had at least one disaster, myself included. And in reality, the fans on your radiator won't be much quieter than the ones in your system already. All of my crazy cooled systems were louder than the air-cooled one I use now. Just get a heatsink with a large fan with low rpm, like a panaflo 92mm on a Thermalright SLK series heatsink. Great cooling and nearly silent.
Just be aware that you need a light touch when you're dealing with your computer's guts. This is a far cry from a car or plumbing system.

I have a static mat on the workbench, stand on a mat, and have a strap hooked to the ankle & wrist that runs to the radiator pipe, and I ground the case(talk about overkill)! My PC I use now is the forth one I've built, I'm OK with hardware, but have no patience for software; too lazy to read the manuals.

I don't do fancy things, i prefer performance instead.
