Well... I haven't posted any art in a while cause I haven't done any XD
I wanted to try shading again... it's been almost a year since I have. I'm so rusty... I've forgotten how to shade. Well the camera made the picture have a werid perspective and the quality is crap... hopefully you can see through those terribly annoying factors.

Time it took: 5 hours
Tools used: Mechanical pencil, 2B pencil, Ebony pencil, Blending stump, and electric eraser

5 hours... hmm, that's how long it took me to do my ryu pic i think... but that in general smells... i very rearly do 'realistic' styled stuff... butt lately i have, and really enjoy it, lol.
great job... it thats it messed up by yht camra... then.. it must be a REALLY amazing picture, because that's awsomeness!

tell me about it... especially when it's such a great hair style... it's probably why jrockers are completely the best to draw... they have THE greatest hair.

Well Dollporn... I guess it's the materials I use.

2B pencils are great for create smooth textures for say skin. I use tissue and blending stumps to smooth things and blend. Grainier textures for hair and clothing and stuff I use the Ebony pencils. Also for darker shadows on the skin since the 2B is a relatively pale lead in comparison to Ebony pencils.

I did that on bristol paper which if you get the kind with "fine tooth" it has a bit of a texture to it itself which maked blending ad shading a lot easier.

Does that make any sense

i generally use my 6b for the hevier shading *loves her 6B* ish so darck and soft

There made by Stanford... real cheap... two in a pack... great for the starving artist XD

...and you can shade about 3-5 8x10 pictures before it runs out... which it pretty good for a pencil

ahhh, yeah, that;s a much better image, you can treally see the technique.
you've got a really good sence of the facial structure, it curves (well.. is far ans a angular face can 'curve') really nicely, and you're shading technique is very skill full. you've really picked out the cheekbones. the lips stand out nicely and they have real good form... and the hair is really flawlessly done... i bet it drove you insane after the first 2 hours (i presume you spent most of you're time on the hair). the eyes are really intence too... the picture works really well...

... yeah, i didn't have school to get to this time ^^;
