I know this is very trivial, but I just had to ask. "2つ" would mean what? Is "つ" some kind of counter in this sentence, or is it something that could mean "things". I've never seen this before in previous lessons.![]()
undrentide;403605 said:It is a traditional counting in Japanese, and つ is a kind of suffix used when counting things or age
Cue;407202 said:Anyway, "田中さんと" here means, "with Tanaka san".
And したら can mean "if/when/after doing something", which would be translated as "in 10 minutes" in this case.
You could rephrase it as 10分ぐらいで帰るけど。。。, but just taking out "shitara" and saying 10分ぐらい帰るけど is grammatically incorrect.
もう分かりましたか?Fuumei;407838 said:後から走ってくる馬とは10馬しん(10 Horse Lenghts)以上の差があった。
What would be the proper way to translate "後から走ってくる馬とは"? I'm having a bit of trouble with that area of the sentence. If anyone can give a hand when you have the time, I would be greatly thankful.![]()
Probly a lot of ways, such as ブリッジ(橋)島市 ?miki78;408897 said:Um how would you say Bridge Island city please

I'm afraid no one here is willing to help out on this both because of the length and that it sounds too implausible to be involving simply a pen pal. You may want to take it to a professional translator if the work is that important. This would really help me out, so if someone would have the time and translate this to japanse, it would help me so much.
I need help to translate this to japanese:

What would be a Japanese katakana transcription of "Night Club"? Are there any real examples, and if not, how would they most probably transcribe it?
breez;411447 said:I guess it would be ナイトクラブ (naitokurabu).
This time it has gotten to the point of marriage. という感じするんじゃないかな。。。Fuumei;411946 said:今度結婚することになりました
This roughly means "(We've) decided to get married (soon)"? I was scratching my head a bit trying to get "今度" to work right in my mind. So I assume here it is "Soon" and not something else?![]()
