here we go,

"Todays lucky food is spaghetti!

napolitan on meat sauce on carbonara.
spaghetti that can transform its flavour with lots of sauces.
from now, you/I have a hunch that lots of things are going to happen, so get ready for them! Things will definitely go your way! "

So it could be saying that, like plain spaghetti you can be influenced by things around you, or maybe that if you pour carbonara over your head you'll become incredibly lucky...........hmm.

Firstly, ありがとうございます・ありがとうございました - the second is just more polite, so you'll probably hear it when you buy something in a shop, etc. But you probably won't have to use it yourself if you're just holidaying.


Okay, let's fix that sentence - it's pretty much spot on, except I would probably say;

日本に来て、（name）と暮すのを許してありがとう。

or how about something like this;

いろいろと親切にしてくれてありがとう（ございます）
thank you for all you've done for me

sure other members can come up with some better stuff though! I'm a bit sleepy..

This is odd to me. Are you trying to say "Thanks for allowing me to live with you?" :? 暮らすのを許してくれてありがとう。maybe ? Although something more like 'thanks for accepting me into your home' may be more natural...

Also, if something is way in the past I would definitely use "gozaimashita." If it just happened, I think can go either way.

I think that sentence 「暮らすのを許してありがとう/許してくれてありがとう」 (sounds nicer, thanks Elizabeth!) is a little unusual, but I thought if Pika La was staying with friends it's a kind of cute phrase, like, "I know I'm being a pain in the um, y'know" (笑）, especially if Pika La wanted to use "許す" in the sentence.

How about *buzz of thinking cap springing into action*

「安楽に暮らせてくれてありがとうございます」
Thank you for allowing me to live comfortably

or an all round general
「どうもお世話になりました」
（せわ）
Thank you very much for all the trouble you have taken for me.

I think that one or this (「いろいろと親切にしてくれてありがとうございます」) are safer to use with people you don't know - more formal and polite.


Pika la, wow! Tokyo should be amazing! Hope you have a great time, just be prepared for the weather - its about 34 degrees where I am in western japan, so Tokyo will probably be even hotter

oh, and try eating "monjya yaki" if you can, very very yummy!

I wonder if in Japanese it would be more mire easily expressed as "everytime i think about him i get angry"

Just anything the flavour of that kind of sentence would be great.

You might want to look up the word かねる , or in this case かねない。
Ex:
彼を見ると、笑いかねない。
When I look at him, I can't help laughing.
