Hmm... This is purely subjective, but I don't see anything "offhand" or "oh well" about it. It's not like the person responded to a question of whether s/he would personally prefer a 恋愛結婚 or an お見合い結婚 with "Who cares?" -- that might surprise me a bit too.

But in this case, the person was just asked whether s/he agrees or disagrees with arranged marriages (in general), and s/he responded basically that, (for those people for whom it might not be such a bad idea) they should have that option. That doesn't really strike me as a particularly surprising response.

Also, the person's reply didn't actually include どっちもいい。 What they said was "お見合い結婚という選択肢があっても良いと思います。" which I would translate more as "I don't see anything wrong with having the choice." and doesn't sound at all offhand to me. If it was "どっちも構いません。" then it would sound offhand ^_^. Just my 一円.

I tried to answer this above, but it seems that either my Japanese was incomprehensible or my explanation was unclear, so let me try to clarify myself in English.

As far as I know, there is no "ne" in American English (and I assume other forms of English, though I'm not qualified to speak about them). I think these people who are using "ne?" at the end of English sentences are either learners of Japanese or people who have picked it up from watching anime, and they're simply mixing in the Japanese "ne" with their English. I think the average native English speaker with no knowledge of Japanese would not understand this and would find it quite strange, although they might be able to deduce the meaning from the intonation, context, and as Paul points out, the resemblence to the Canadian "eh?" which has a very similar range of meanings.

I, personally, am not a fan of this, as I think it sounds kind of silly. I'm not quite sure why people do this, although I imagine that some people (especially teenage female anime fans) probably think they sound "cute", and others seem like they're trying to show off the fact that they can "speak Japanese", even though many of them probably have no real knowledge of the language outside of a few simple phrases. Still others probably just do it because they find it to be a convenient expression, but like Pox-san points out, there are plenty of perfectly natural English expressions that mean the same thing, so I don't really see why it's necessary to use the Japanese "ne" when speaking English.

Speaking of which...

Yes, both of those are correct. A more polite/formal form of お帰り would be お帰りなさい, but お帰り is fine if you know the person fairly well.

Have fun - 楽しんでってね or 楽しんで行ってください
Will it be fun? - I would say 楽しみにしてますか？ which is really more like "Are you looking forward to it?", but that's what I would say in English anyway.

As for "tell me about your trip," qualified by "when you have time" I usually use something on the variations below :

いろいろと、お土産話を(教えて)聞かせてくださいね or simply 旅行(の事)について教えて(聞かせて)くださいね。

Well, but there are some situations where the two wouldn't exactly be interchangable. For example, in English I might say something like "Tell me all about it when you get back (or next time you write, or next time we speak on the phone, etc.)"

In this case, I think something like 「旅行の話聞かせてね」 wouldn't be too blunt or forceful or anything, don't you think?

This would probably be fine if you were genuinely unsure (and wanted to ask) whether or not the person in question was looking forward to the trip or not, but assuming that he/she is giving any signs at all the the trip is going to be fun, I'd probably go with 「楽しみでしょうね」 ("You must be looking forward to it") or (in the right context) 「楽しそうですね」 ("Sounds like it'll be fun.")

Just my two cents.

Yeah, and most naturally reduced to "楽しんでくださいね" accompanied by 楽しみ（でしょう）だね。before they leave, and then something like (思い切り)楽しんできましたか？ when they get back. You can also give more set leave-takings as in as "どうぞ楽しい旅行を（してください）窶?#65281;いってらしあいい。。。。

(This is a nit-picky point, but I can't resist.)

Of course, you can leave out the きて, but I wouldn't say that it's "most naturally" reduced to that. I think in the case of someone going on vacation it's equally (if not more) natural to say 「楽しんできてください」 as compared to just 「楽しんでください」, because of the sense of motion involved. (I mean, look at your own examples of 「楽しんできましたか？」 and 「行ってらっしゃい」, both of which contain verbs of motion.)

A quick google search gives me:

760件 for 「旅行楽しんでね」
9,170件 for 「旅行楽しんできてね」

2,810件 for 「旅行楽しんでください」
10,800件 for 「旅行楽しんできてください」

Again, a minor point, but I'm just a nit-picker like that.
