Thanks for the correction, Toritobe , it should be だけで. So the complete sentence would be:
きょねん オレ達が 少しイジっただけで 学校に 来なくなったもんな.
Which means: "Last year, he no longer came to school just because we teased him a little, didn't he?" (Is this correct?)
I took it that イジった as bully since the person they talked about used to be bullied.

Could anyone confirm the meaning of イヤミの嵐 to me? Not much is coming up on google when I search for specific definitions or meaning but, from what I could gather, am I correct in assuming that it's like ranting or complaining about something?

I just saw in this phrase (また上司のイヤミの嵐だ。。。) which was said by an employee after he screwed up on a job - he's worried that his boss will give him hell because of it, yes?

The part I'm having trouble with is 小柄なアカツキの頭などひとかじりに思える. My attempt to translate this is "The head of the Akatsuki with its small build seems like a single bite", which obviously makes no sense at all.

It is saying that the animal has such a large beak it could bite the head off an Akatsuki in a single bite.

@killerinsidee - something that would reverse the meaning doesn't just drop out of the middle of a sentence. Occam's razor suggests you found a bad translation, or the original Japanese sentence is mistranscribed.

Context would, as usual, undoubtedly make it clear exactly what sort of relationship is meant - 「お兄さん」is probably not referring to someone's actual, blood-relative "brother".

I can't continue being a teacher

Not sure but maybe 持たない here has the meaning 「状態を保てずに消耗したり消失したりするおそれのある状況」(copy-pasted from weblio). So translation would sound something like this - "Without it humanity won't be able to hold oneself(to live)" or "Like this(without starting a war, advancing humanity to the next stage) humanity comes to a point(ところに来ている) where it couldn't hold oneself."


I also have a question in the following text. What is the speaker means by 「ここに奥の手まで付け足される」, they also has a trump card additionaly to their 身体機能の向上?

Hello friends, I've been struggling to translate a spoken phrase that I cannot seem to decipher with my limited knowledge. I'll try to convey the romaji properly and would greatly appreciate anyone who can correct my understanding and or translate this.

I can't determine what the last word is verbally but I'm sure someone more well-versed in the language could make sense of it. It may or may not be one word but it's definitely pronounced similarly to that, though my interpretation must be off.
