It sounds right as the is a Japanese crest symbol in the centre. I will research that to see if it matches Kitagawa-clan. Thank you again for your help. I have learnt a lot.
 
All the families/clans of the same family name don't always use the same, only one family crest. It's impossible to investigate a family name only from a crest in most cases, except very famous clans (for instance daimyōs such like Tokugawa or Takeda).
 
OK thanks. It looks like you are correct and it is a fake or a tourist item. I have had fun though. I will have to visit Japan sometime as it looks amazing.
 
Hi, Can you help me with a small translation? I'm after the Kanji Translation of the words 'Flaming Dragon'? I'd like to use it in artwork I am making. According to google translate 炎炎龍 is close but I'm worried about accuracy/grammar etc. Can you offer any advice? I asked someone who had a basic grasp of english and they told me 赤炎龍 was better but that is red flame dragon. Thanks in advance.

If you want to specify the meaning "flame breathing dragon", 吐炎龍/吐焔龍 works well.

肥後守[Higo no kami] means "Governor of Higo Province", but this is a kind of fake title. It doesn't refer to a real governor.
"(Sada) Kanekoma" is a male given name.

I think this might be katakana and not kanji.
