No argument here.
Also very true. This is why my freedom ends where another's begins. (see below)
You misunderstood me. No one should accept being mocked. But everything needs to be in proportion.
What you fail to see is that freedom of speech (and action) does come with responsibility for one's own words. In my country, no one will respect you if you mock someone. But it is not really a crime. It becomes a crime when your mocking hinders this other's freedom to express himself. And this mocked person commits himself a crime when he becomes violent because of being mocked.
Burning a book is not a crime here. In my opinion, a quran is just another book. Just like the bible, the vedah, the torah, and just like the book I've written myself. By all means, burn it if that means you bought it

Its ink print is not divine, just chemicals. The pages are made of bleached wood. And so on.
This is why a quran burns just like any other book. Basic reaction with the atmosphere's oxygen.
I do not defend the actual act of burning anything to state a message. An American flag, a quran, I see no fundamental difference. Both mean a lot to a lot of people.
But I will always defend someones
right to do this. But the person doing it will be responsible for the consequences. Just like those who feel offended, are responsible for their own reaction.
By all means, every true muslim
should feel offended when someone burns a quran. Just like every tiny-bit-patriotic American should when someone burns a stars 'n stripes.
Somehow, burning a quran becomes some sort of divine crime, far more serious than the burning of any other book. So much so that many muslims see extreme violence as a legitimate answer. And this is a problem. The proportionality is gone completely.
That's what I mean when I say muslims want non-muslims to see a quran as
not-just-another-book. It is your right to see it as not another book, but is my right to see it another way. Just like it is my right to draw "the prophet", it is my right to draw Jesus, to draw a tree with flowers, to draw sexual pictures,...
This is called freedom of expression.
Well you are here forcing on your definition of freedom of expression with our definition of freedom of expression, in Islam peoples have right and freedom to express themselves, if you look at the early muslim society. I will go down to history; if you want, give an example, I can do that if you want me to do so.
And we also have our own definition of freedom of speech. As the Jew come to Umar Ibn Khatab (ra) to make a protest on how was the government ruling violating his freedom of belief, which later Umar Ibn Khatab (ra) sent a latter that was telling to the governor ''straighten your behavior now or it will be straightened by law.''
So we do have freedom of speech and expression on our own border, as you also make your own border for what is the freedom of expression and what is the freedom of speech. But the thing is, your border includes everything that it even includes to protect hate speech, hate expression, and mockery also dishonoring others' believes and sacred conduct ; by verbal and action.
Here I quote your words :
No argument here.
This is your answer for my argument that I'm not obliged to make you obey us, who am I to pull you into something? Because not burning Torah and Vedha is not a kind of Obligation but it is a basic moral and ethics on respecting others and living in a good multi cultural society, your answer is ; no argument, good it means you agree.
After this, you go back again to basic; you are saying that for you the Torah ,Vedha also Quran is only a book for you nothing holy about it, so if you buy that book, you can burn it and put it on tv and make a declaration, or burn it infront of the eyes of the muslim.
The answer of that is forever I will be disagree. As do all peoples know something very wrong about this act while they protect this act in the absurd way of freedom of speech which also has its own double standard, where is the freedom of speech when one of the ex US marine was caught and put in prison just because sounding his disagreement in facebook?
Where is the freedom of speech and expression for those peoples who were hold in Guantanamo bay, Abu Gharib, without any court and had been stripped for their rights to speak and from the transparency and most of them was released years later due to cannot be proved to any terrorist activities but they have already suffered torturement, punishment and humiliation for years in prison?
where is the freedom of speech? Don't preach me freedom of speech on expression about burning Quran and drawing prophet that are clearly evil actions, while the true freedom of speech and expression of the detainee that have been held with injustice you don't even give a damn about it.
And again, don't dream a world where muslims are happy to being bombed, killed, raped, pillaged, manipulated, slaughtered, but they suddenly got angry because of this event.
This event only a trigger of accumulation of crime that done by US, accumulation of double standard of accusing the good and covering the bad.
If you still want to draw and do what ever u want, then don't surprise with the consequences. Freedom of speech by US definition is not a divine law that was given by God from Gibrael from heaven, so everybody can despise it and disagree with it and it is nothing to be proud of, it is politically dirty and silly.
So when you do that things, and we are now in the era of information, it will effect other places of the world that peoples hold different value than yours, that will punish your government for not punishing you.
While what they want is so simple; leave us alone, don't burn our Quran, let us wear hijab, don't draw our prophet, but you don't even give them that tiny space of land do u? where is your heart? where is your tolerance and sympathy for the differences? Such an egoist ethics that u hold.
