Squishy: here is the syllabus

独立行政法人日本学生支援機構

Thanks a lot! :-) :-)

For math just practice previous exams cause it all seems pretty similar

I'm really behind on math so I don't really understand almost anything on the exams,especially since it's in English xD ^^;

Hmmmm and no calculators allowed.........gonna have to practice speed counting on my fingers because by the end of High School I got lazy and used the calculator to do even simple plus and minus calculations........

xD Same here..it's better they don't see us at it though.. ^^;

What's the chance of the Japanese exam being like the last two rather than something like 2010's?
I just checked the exams of the past two years and now it looks like I stand a chance at that exam xD
2010 just seemed like a block of kana and kanji or something but the new ones are nice and simple..even if you don't understand a letter of if you could still have a go at some of the stuff.. :3

hey every one, i'm new here from indonesia, i think i will apply for this shoolarship, i will take medicine and biology as the majors
about the paper i found it a bit difficult, especially math and chem, about biology it's esier for me, since i'm part of
the olympiad team in my province
and have the registration strated in your country??
Thanks :))

Well it has started in some. It hasn't started in mine. Has it started in yours?

Ouch!!!! I feel sorry for the 2010 students, normal small questions is hard enough but a comprehension! The examiner must of been in a really bad mood in 2010 because non of the previous exams or the ones after are like that, so i'm guessing the chances of getting a killer exam like 2010 is small.

I really hope you're right..I could use it.. ^^;
Out of curiosity,what would make the doctor claim that you're not fit to get the scholarship?

Well if you carry any infectious disease, since I live in South Africa I pose a threat as South Africa has a high TB infection rate, so basically they just want to check and see if any problems exist and if you are a carrier of anything they wont let you into the country=no scholarship, and I suppose they wouldn't award someone sickly a scholarship.......

Aah,I see..I hadn't thought of that..Thanks!

Hey drewa how is the Line group going? I'm waiting for more internet so I can update my computers graphics as it wont let me run Line until I do.

The Line group is going really great actually :D
We have like 9 people, youll make it 10. Theres a lot of info on there already i think, and were seeing who can contribute what to the the group. For example, I can contribute Japanese and maybe a bit of math. And Keshant can contribute math and some sciences i think. There are more members though who can contribute other subjects. Also, were planning on setting up a Skype group for group calls to practice our Japanese skills, but we need to work around these time differences too. But its going good :)

Wow sounds great, that will definitely improve our chances.The time frame is a challenge but i'm sure everyone could split in groups according to their time frames each with a person who's good in a particular subject and when the next time shift occurs the others can check up on the last groups progress......maybe that will work? I should hopefully be able to join tomorrow.:p

Hmmm, I'm thinking about posting a lot of info on Japanese and math since that's where we will need the most help in general.
I'm not sure what level Japanese to start at though because i dont know everyones level of Japanese.
Math on the other hand will be easier to post because i can just write down the problems, work them out, take a picture, and upload! :)

I have a question if anyone is knowledgeable about the scholarship. Can I apply to courses taught in English after the preparatory courses at Osaka or Tokyo University? The embassy here didn't give me a clear answer at all because I want to apply to Sophia's FLA and the embassy told me I cannot do so via direct placement. Please answer me if you know anything about this! BTW I can help you with the math since I'm taking AP Calc BC

I think that you cannot recommend schools you want to go to unless you're going through direct placement. I believe that through direct placement you can choose 3 schools you would want to go to. However, if you are not doing direct placement, then you do not choose your school after the prep classes in Osaka/Tokyo.
Read the guidelines. It says that after the 1 year prep school, MEXT will choose the university's exams which you will take based off of your scores in prep school, scores that you got from the MEXT exams, and depending on your major field of study. I may or may not be leaving a part out of this so you should read the University section on the guidelines as well. :)

The possible reason you may not be able to go to Sophia's FLA through direct placement is due to the fact that direct placement students are not allowed to pick private universities as the government thus MEXT scholarship can not dictate the students that will attend those universities, I think.....You will not be able to go to Sophia's FLA through MEXT as they will pick the university you will go to.

That's good news as some Maths questions I have no clue how to do so those pictures will help. Maybe you should try basic sentences to help the beginners and maybe a few complex ones to keep the ones at a higher level progressing also.Increasing vocabulary will help everyone beginners and higher level speakers alike, maybe start on the most used words in everyday life in Japan as learning words that are never used is a waste of time.

It'd be great if you uploaded the math.. :3
As for the Japanese,what Brendz said should be able to cover everyone..
Could you add me to the Skype group? I have a bit of a better chance of getting on there xD
My ID's cynder757 ^^

Squishy ill post your skype id in the line group so youll be added ^^
