Hi guys, just got a quick question. Are any of you using an specific format for the recommendation letter? I'm turning my application in next week!

If the school doesn't give any sample on how it could be you may just look for another college recommendation format and do a kind-of due to there shouldn't be many differences.

Hello my friends. Who are Filipino Monbusho applicants here like me? Any updates? Who else here applied as well last May 27, 2016 for Research Student? Have you received any calls or emails? And how many days usually is the waiting time if in case accepted?

Hi Distrib! I'm also a Fil-Mon waiting for the docu screening results. Applied for Undergrad category. It's my second (last) time applying for the MEXT. Before, the results were out after a week or two from the deadline (As I recall). Gluck to us!

Hello there you may be referring to the initial results? Also undergrad and research/postgraduate have different screening procedures and deadlines. Did you apply through embassy? Hope you'd get the scholarship!

Wow! That was fast! Congratulations! Based on what I've read English would be pretty much easy (just observe for word that makes the sentence ungrammatical and the usual English comprehension). You may want to search for past mext forums where they posted the link of previous exams. Also they've listed questions usually asked during the interview stage such as "why japan? Why not America? Etc." God bless!

Hi ghadasensei! Congrats on getting shortlisted! Made it as well hihi. Which Undergrad did you take? Social Science or Natural Science? Good luck with the exams! Especially the Math exam, you really have to study for it. Ibang level math nila dude.

As far as I know there are certain points that must be met per subject. I think they did not set the passing score of Math that high, although you must aim for high score. I didn't know that you applied for medicine. Ow. Good luck! There's really high competition on that course.

Err.. I'm not quite sure if University Recommendation option applies to undergraduate programs too. All I know is undergrad and grad screening process differ. Based on what I've read from forums and blogs, if one is applying for undergrad (non-english program) then Japanese language knowledge would be an edge.

MEXT has it's own recommendation form
But I've heard of some countries not being given it so I'm not sure if you gotta use a different one..

For undergrad, I guess the uni recommendation is when you go for direct placement and thus skip the prep year.

Hi, a newbie here! Did anyone take the exams? How was maths A? Geometry mostly or other stuff? Also how can i find the past years' papers? I managed to get the answers for 2012 and 2013, but not the subjects pretty funny, isn't it? Can someone pm me? I give free virtual cookies.

Hi Shaneah26! As far as I heard from the instruction, they will send an e-mail to you after the exam. If wala kang natanggap, it means better luck next time. Asan ka pala dun nung exam?
