Hi there,
Has anyone ever gotten a MEXT scholarship under the category of Teacher Training Student? Or do you happen to have any kind of information about the chances of getting it after passing the English exam and the interview?
I'm an elementary school teacher and applied for it this year, though I don't know Japanese, I managed to score 92/100 in the English test, and in the interview I did fairly well. My other two peers, passed the interview too but got lower scores than I in the English part (65 and 80). The three of us were recommended by the Embassy, but rumor is that the quota for this year, in regards to this category, is 2 or maybe only one scholarship.
So any thoughts about my case?
Thx!

If it's anything like some of the foreign student influx at my uni, you have absolutely zero to do about it because they may go solely on nationality. That is, "Well, we had a Canadian last year, and a German before that, so this year it's the Sri Lankan's turn."

Oh my gosh! Don't tell me that. I thought since there aren't many teachers applying for the scholarship the odds will increase. Well, I guess I'll have to keep my fingers (and toes) crossed to be Mexico's turn.
Are there any Teacher Training Students in your university?
