how did you know that you passed? Was it thru email? Or was it by post? My sensei told me that I will get my official letter thru post (printed copies)

I've just received an official email from my uni admissions office that I'm chosen for the MEXT!!! Yattaaaa!!!~(((o(*ﾟ▽ﾟ*)o))) They said that they'll send me all papers on 19th of July! I hope you guys will also receive yours acceptance letters sometime very soon!!

Congrats! I am entering todai this too but a part of masters program. Which graduate school and what is your major? I am entering under the graduate school of engineering on mechanical engineering major.

Not yet but according to the set timeline, it should be out by the end of July.
Well the OSTA email says mid-july but the latest should be July 29 so we could get word from it any day now. Which dorm did you select with the highest priority? For me it was Oiwake and Mitaka.
Also have you receive your certificate of eligibility yet? I am still waiting for mine.
I chose Oiwake and Shirokanedai. But since we do not fall into self-supporting students category, our chance is very low for getting either Oiwake or Toshima.

True. Although, I have a friend who is under the same fellowship and joined last year and still got into Komaba (which was his priority after oiwake) so there is a bit of hope. Last year about 43% of the candidates got into a dorm so the odds are decent. Have you looked into a back up dorm or housing?
It will be fun meeting you at the IME guidance event. When are you flying in? I will arrive on September 23 but I might need to fly earlier if I get into Mitaka.
